Thursday.

The first swallowtail of the year munching on dill.

Well, the sewing project started last night immediately after coming home with the pillow.  Thinking about possibilities consumed my mind and I started using an old sheet trying a few things.  At one point I was doing some crappy sewing so I started all over with a 100% improvement on the project.  I quit after coming through with what I called a good hole in place.  There was more work waiting for completion today, Thursday.

Can you find the caterpillar?  Look carefully.  I missed it when I took the picture.

Last night we received our annual summer phone call from Jared and family asking how the elderly are doing with the heat.  I thought...Who you talkin about, boy?  There are no elderly at this house! But it's nice just to talk about what ever needs to be talked about no matter the weather, the hour of the day or what other circumstances could be the cause of the call.

This is what gets me up in the morning.  The sun on the flowers is just magical.

And that happened early in the morning with cooler temperatures in the sewing room was what I called a project that woke up my brain again.   I called the pillow covering finished at 10 thinking it was fun to work through the uniqueness of a hole problem discovering something that would work. My friend had a problem needing a solution. I had the fun of sewing, solving a problem for that friend. My five-minute car ride delivered the pillow to its owner.  She should sleep well tonight.

A pillow for a sore ear.

Last evenings rain was a very good one.  The plants looked very happy this morning. My bunny friend was up early with a greeting.   I saw breakfast being eaten on the soon to be gone Bleeding Heart bush that is on its way to dormancy. Then I heard the song in my head...Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail.  And Peter did just that hopping along the wood chipped trail in front of me.

I'm learning to live with these creatures again. Just stop messing with my zinnias.                                                    The little bit of clover growing in the yard is all yours.

11:30 came along faster with a busy morning, with lunch again of jello, cottage cheese, nuts and a small bit of granola.  It's sort of a crazy combination but I love it.  It was time to close up the house preserving with hope a cooler place of living.

Deer food  depleted the flowers but the buds that were left are beginning to bloom.

The afternoon was no different than the last few afternoons.  The animal report for today follows...    Racoons 0.  There doesn't seem to be any racoons in the garage, so says Doug.  Squirrels 1 trapped in the racoon trap late afternoon, only to be replaced by two more free roaming squirrels from who knows where.  The beat goes on. Birds 1, chipmunks 0.  Well, that is the count at 6:30 pm.  It's another blistery afternoon with a change coming maybe Friday night.  I'll believe it when I feel it.

A yellow zinnia on the way.  Little things get me excited.  My plants are growing up.

Supper was another salad with Michigan egg salad.  I sense an Aldi's run tomorrow.  The Fever play tonight.  I hope Caitlin doesn't get hurt.  The girls seem to be out to get her!  NO FAIR! Tomorrow...BLOOD TEST!  BRING IT ON!  I'LL BE AT IU NORTH AT 8 AM.

Becky Daisys beginning to fill lots of spaces.  Becky's are the best of the bunch according to me!                    The plant with pods is Baptista, a plant in the pea family also called false indigo.
