Saturday

Today was a very simple day.  The morning brought some early TV with breakfast happening on the patio watching what was really not much happening while there.  I made some decisions for altar flowers and moved what I needed to the car.

Growing at the back of the bed with chicken wire in front of the bed.

Then on to church working on three arrangements.  There were two for the sanctuary and one for the first service held in the chapel during the summer months.  It will be moved to the sanctuary for the second service. I used a few things found in the court yard to finish out the arrangements.  Banners were changed and a little pazazz added to the chancel area.

This flower is one I chose for the altar arrangements.  It's a hardy one that came from Doug's dad's garden.  Then went to Jared's garden with mine disappearing because of shade but Jared sharing once again now planted in the sun garden.

I was in the car ready to move on home when Patty arrived to add a new pascal candle to the chancel area.  Visiting with Patty became a priority and at that same moment Heidi arrived.  So, the three of us had a short visit with Patty then on her way and Heidi and I walking through the sanctuary and chapel area.  I feel caught up with all the news I had missed while in Michigan.

Doug spotted a fawn with baby in the yard late morning.  I thought they were nocturnal animals.

More deer food, fewer flowers coming my way.  It's the luck of the draw.                                             I transplanted these day lilies two years ago.  Last year there were no flowers.                                                                      It looks like that could happen again this year.

Here is the bad guy.  The report was that he was just outside the front door.                                                                    The flocks have been nibbled more than once.

So, it was back home for a very sleepy afternoon.  Meaning I slept for most of the afternoon.  What more is there to write about that?  Not much.

Early spring this was on the deer menu.  They just haven't found this clump of Najila.

I can add that new neighbor Gina has more energy working on more projects.  Yesterday she searched online finding many Hosta's someone living near wanted removed.  They now are planted in G. yard and today she is laying down cardboard, covering it with mulch to kill the grass in that area.  I would say it's a big project.  Good for her to put this on her to do list.  She has shared there will be more projects.

Lots of cardboard, stacks of mulch and a plan.  I shared some mint tea with lots of ice added.
Finished.  A very nice addition to the lawn. I have one tired neighbor.

Nothing much else except blog work is planned for the day.  Some days are like that, even in Australia.  Tomorrow cancer medication starts again.  I'm needing more energy.  I hope it's just around the corner.  The next few days will bring heat.  Yea!  The zinnias should love it.  It's about time.

This clematis was planted YEARS ago.  It is such a dependable trouper that continues to give.

And once again the camera was at home, I was at church.  There will be church pictures tomorrow.
