Sunday

Sunday...A day of Rest.  Well, it remains to be written about.

So pretty and so perfect.  This is from last years saved seeds.                                                                        I think there will be a lot of yellow in the garden this year.

Another good breakfast of yogurt, almonds and blue berries with a cup of coffee to get me on the road of doing.  The patio was the place and the birds were the entertainment.  Sorry to say the bunny evaded the trap.  And the deer had a feast of flower buds from day lilies and sweet peas from south to north.

I walked the garden and there was a visitor again also having breakfast.  The beat continued for a smidgen of time until a few hours later.

We were off to church at 10 again visiting with folks before church and listening to the choir rehearse in the sanctuary.  That is just the biggest treat.  The altar flowers honored the 55 years of marriage for Melody and Rick, longtime friends.  Darren preached on the importance of reading the Bible.  Heidi sat with us and we decided to have  a work morning tomorrow making some changes that will support the Season of Pentecost that will take us to September.  The former ways of thinking noted a season of Pentecost in the UMC.  It was changed to a Sunday of Pentecost.  This year our church is celebrating a season of Pentecost.

A Pentecost flower Red!  Well, it's in the red family. We can make it work.

Home again with lunch and more work in the garden and on the north flowerbed. The north flowerbed is  beginning to look like someone cares about it. I dug out more weeds and enlarged a few places for more flowers.  Zinnias were transplanted.  They don't look to happy but a good night's sleep will help them.  Kat told me that flowers and vegetables at Needlers will be half price tomorrow.  I made a trip to see and what I needed wasn't there.  I moved on to Ace again and what I needed wasn't there.  Then on to Rosie's and what I needed was there. Rosie's flowers showed without a doubt that they had been well cared for looking very healthy. Something that should last the summer and fall.

A flat of beautiful vinca was on sale for 10.00.  I think the spring price was 27 dollars a flat.  So, a whole flat came home.  I can say they are the first flowers I've purchased this year.  No...I bought some State Fair zinnias. The vinca found a place along the stepstones a s a p!

I would imagine the zinnias are embarrassed.  I'll take their picture again tomorrow.                                                  Yesterday this was a mess of boring green.  Not so today.

That's it for the flower family.  Now vegetables.  The tomatoes were purchased as well as the broccoli.

All gone.  No more.  I give up. There is plenty of clover on your bunny menu, not on mine.

I have a handful of broccoli fruit for a small bowl of soup.  No more bunny food without chicken wire fencing in my garden after seeing them eating broccoli leaves again this morning.

Another grand try tomorrow.  Again from Rosie...buy one get one free.

Arriving home after my plant trip found the buck waiting for me at the corner of the house under the pine tree.  The wildlife is plentiful in our neighborhood this year.  I hope they don't like vinca.  The Hosta's got a good Hosta cut again but I didn't have time to trim the day lilies bud less stems.  That's a early tomorrow morning job tomorrow before I leave for church.

The rest of the day was supper and then a seat on the chair finished off the day.  Life is good even with bunnies and deer.  Well, sort of.

A huge PS.  Tonght I spotted three spotted baby deer hanging out at the burn pile.  THREE!            THEN I counted FOUR Rabbits.  Two big and two small!!!! HELP  If I have anything left in the garden in a couple of weeks, I'll be surprised.  We need a fox!

  1. Doesn't Jared have a gun? Didn't he shoot a fox that was eating his hens?
