Sunday

Yes...the first and only place I ever had rabbit was at your house, Dee.  I've never had it at my house.  Peter is seen more than once at this house just being a rabbit.  Some of that is not so good.  This morning, he tried zinnias but didn't like them just leaving the top that was nipped lying there.  Of course, zinnias do better if the top is nipped but not quite as much as Peter thought to accommodate the plant. Could he be trained to be a good gardener?  Don't think so.

There is Peter, sleeping away the afternoon.  More flowers were on the ground.

And once again rain gave us another overnight visit.  I went through most of my library books looking for what might be eating some of the zinnias. The worst place is the area I cleared this spring when the tree fell.  It was covered with Solomon seal.  I'm beginning to think it's slugs.  That's a hard one to get rid of when the rain continues and thin zinnia leaves continue to be eaten..  Time helps a whole lot to make changes.  But I'm going to keep working on a solution.  My books are keeping me on the thinking track. I think I'll be moving some sun perennials now living in more shade as the red bud tree overhead grows bigger.

I love this Mullin in the garden, one of two this year.

My first look at the H H trap this morning said I caught something.  No, something sprung the trap.  But an hour later we found a guest had checked in. We left for church taking the route to church via the playground on Gray Road. The trap was reset when we got home, and I made another trip to the chipmunk playground midafternoon.  The count is the usual two so far today.

So far, I've seen 17 cannas peeking through in the garden and pot.  Something is happening correctly.

I received a request this morning for a stole for Jill.  She has many but none that celebrate Pride Sunday which is next Sunday.  Yikes.  My brain began another stole journey,  Could it be that I never used my batik fabric because they were being saved for the stole. I need a yellow and green so on the way home from the playground I stopped at the quilt store finding it closed.  I'll be there tomorrow at 9 when the door opens.  One stole is in the making.  I don't have a lot of time. Yikes. I'm missing yellow and green colors.

I'm going to do strip quilting with rainbow colors adding many embroidered crosses.

I managed a first round with ALL the library books this morning.  There will be more rounds before I'm finished.  This collection is pretty good with some really simple idea pictured with a whole lot of information.  I really enjoy seeing what people do with what they have.  It keeps me thinking.

We were off to church for another good morning enjoying among many things the music offering of a youth group from Louisville, Kentucky filling that part of the service.  They had an overnight stay in the church.  Those were the years of a whole lot of fun sleeping on the floor? Their tour started in Chicago and this afternoon they were on their way home.

The choir was large and the group also included their handbell choir on the tour.

The afternoon was checking on things, texting, reading books, taking a walk and close to having an old-fashioned Sunday afternoon with no work so to speak.  Not exactly a 1950's Sunday but very close.  I plan to do a popcorn evening with the Pacers.  To make it a 1950's evening there should be ice cream.  I've given that up for a while.
