Thursday

What part of the plant is used for Hibiscus Tea?  The flower?  Let me know and I'll try it.                     Does the color make a difference in T taste?     I just can't stop taking these pictures. So, it's Thursday ALL day and it has been a wonderful day.  The temperature has moderated and it's been in the 70's all day.  Woo, woo.  With a little rain now and then I couldn't ask for more. When it wasn't now and then, I was in the garden morning, noon, afternoon and maybe night.  For the night, it still is to be determined.                                                     Side by side friends.  Both trying to outdo the other.   I would think if I said it was weed pulling again you might not believe it, si...

Wednesday

Some things stay the same and some things don't.  That's Wednesday at the Russell house.  Yes, the morning started as it always does with breakfast and all that stuff.  Then there's a visit from the B B truck collecting things from the B B cans.  And the mowers come in the afternoon.  Some things stay the same but then there's the other stuff that changes.                                      This hibiscus never stays the same.  It has more blooms each morning.                                                              Such a pleasure to see if the first thing in the morning showing off to the world.  It's been so hot these past few days.  Today...

Tuesday

It always happens.  When I see yellow and blue together, I always think of Ukraine.  It was another good morning.  I was up early at the usual hour.  Yogurt with all the additives tasted great.  TV was entertaining and the morning walk included finding the newspaper in the newspaper slot at the mailbox as it was in the olden days.  Gina met me at the mailbox with her cup of coffee ready for her walk.  I had my cup ready for the paper.  And Wyland was very interested in my cup of coffee as well.  What a big burly soft-hearted dog. So, we caught up on the news and we both were on our way.  I will remember to get a picture of burly one of these days. He's a gentle giant.                A bud yesterday, a flower today and tomorrow it will be gone.  Another will take its place. After the paper I walked the p...

Monday

Another good sleep. The body has forgiven me for all the Saturday abuse.  Then came the morning stuff with all the list of to do's.  I'm back on Kisqali.  That's a very good thing.  I did a short garden walk.  Chased the bunny and decided that some things needed to go.  So, the clippers did the deed. Piles are waiting for a pick up.  It's all the better to see the hibiscus.  They are the stars of the moment with the third plant ready soon to explode with blooms.                                               No. 2.   So many buds.  A sure thing we'll see more flowers. I put together a small flower arrangement and walked it to Kathy.  And we sat for a while talking about everything.  I would say a wonderful way to add to the start of the day.  While visiting we saw Gina on her...

I think I have a total of 4 blooming right now.  Up and ready to go.  Well, it wasn't quite like that. Yesterday's afternoon sort of did me in.  My body was letting me know that every muscle was unhappy with being abused.  But I carried on.  There was the paper to read, breakfast to eat and halfway through the morning we left the house for church 15 minutes earlier than usual.                                                                                      ...

Saturday

So far, it's been a busy day.  Last night's sleep was very good although it took a while to get started continuing for a bit longer than usual.  All is well, all is well.   I had a quick breakfast and soon I was on my way to church for our Saturday soup kitchen day.  I like to arrive at least 30 minutes before the rest of the gang come with preparation started without a lot of distraction.  A whole lot of that happened giving us a good push into the rest of the preparation. Laying the groundwork is really beneficiary.                                                          Red beets have emerged.  I might wind this one.                                       ...
