Lazy Sunday

Straw flowers.  How pretty and they will last all year till next spring when I look for seeds in the flower.

The first of the season.  When it was just a bud, I was certain there was a cardinal in the bush.

It's been just that. LAZY.  I'm paying attention to the sermon preached this morning by Jill.  She talked about Mary and Martha.  Saying we could learn from Mary.  Martha usually overtakes us more often.  It reminded me so much of my "personal Mary day" that happened not so long ago.

I found dear Swallowtail munching away this afternoon.

Two little across the color wheel friends living side by side helping to make each other look beautiful.

So it was church Sunday again.  I walked the garden early finding the usual things. There was coffee on the patio with a few more interesting sections of the Sunday paper.  10:00 came and the car took us south to church again for approximately 2900 times. 57X52 with vacations and babies subtracting a few numbers.

Now sitting on the dining room table.

As you have already heard Jill preached and it was a great hour of greatness.  We gave Jill one of the altar flower arrangements. I brought one home and one will go Tuesday to a long time member.  Her parents, the Esterline's were among the founders of North.  Joan is still a great supporter of all things North.

The afternoon was very quiet.  There was sleepy time, TV time, and a trip to the drugstore time.  I call that a Mary afternoon.

When in the garden, the bunny was always with me.

My job was to find all the cut zinnia flowers and I have quite a little collection.  I've discovered that after the clipping job, if there are buds, they usually have been chewed off.  It is what it is.

Snip, snip, snip! I think there might be 10 of at least 50 planted that are untouched.  The little zinnias along the paths are not to his liking.  There are plenty of those but the big State Fairs and more.  Not so good.  It's time to get creative with marigolds which some say are on their dislike list.  We'll see. I'm greatful for anythng that blooms these days.  And there are many.

A  very long row of blooms on the Holly Hock have opened up.  Woo, woo.

I'm planting more marigolds tomorrow and the bunny off can is empty. It may seem late on the calendar but my flower friend says it's never to late to plant seeds.  We'll see!

The latest picture to arrive.  I see pancake mix, the very old tablecloth under the yellow and blue dining fly.  It looks like home to me has moved to the grandson's camp site.  Adam has his favorite fork and has a bench spot for seating.  He always sat at the end of the table in years past.  It would seem all is right with the world.
