Friday

Early wake up but by now, it's sort of normal or maybe even normal without the sort of.

After all the usuals and my mind spinning with should I or should I not, I decided I should.  Not would have postponed the job till early tomorrow morning. So off to Kathy's to gather more flowers for the altar honoring Jenny and Mike on their 10th wedding anniversary.

A few of the flowers to mess with.

I gathered a bunch of zinnias and found lots of Queen Anne's Lace with was a must for the arrangements.  Lots of Dahlia's were blooming and needing dead heading.  And even though Kathy and Eric are visiting Kara for another week, I did dead heading.  I'm sure I heard a sigh of relief in her garden. When all was gathered, I decided to take the long way home doing some driving exploration on the west side of Carmel.  Woo.  Things have changed including the roads.  There were times when I wondered where I was. When I got serious, I turned east and found my way back home.  That was an adventure for sure.

More flowers to mess with.  Grasses and some very lg. Hosta leaves will be added.

The next trip out took me to the post office.  The box with Eli's jacket was forgotten in the back seat that needed to be on its way.  So off to the PO I went doing a self-shipment option getting it on the way to Michigan.  My guess it will take a week.  Nothing is very fast these days with the PO.  And would you know the P.O. is very close to Goodwill.  And they let me in!  I found some cheap flannel sheets which was a big surprise at this store.  I would guess, no tariffs.  So they came home with me as well as 4 small rugs that we'll use at church as prayer rugs.  It was a very good deal.  Three were 3.99 each and one was 1.99.  No tariffs. I'll probably donate them back to Goodwill when we're finished with them.

Each prayer station will be defined with a rug, candle chair and prayer exercises coming from the staff.

Then lunch timer rolled around and one more time back on the road.  This time it was for my monthly shot visit at IU North.  Seeing such positive folks again is such a boost.  They are so important.  After a protein shake and a small bag of pretzels, and with two shots in my hips, I was on my way again.  This time I wanted to hit the Nora Goodwill.  Well, I didn't exactly hit it, I just walked in the door.  And once again...cheap flannel sheets each for 4 bucks.  Another great bargain.  In the back of my mind, I'm remembering that fall follows summer and then comes winter.  And once again I'll add to last years 2000 baby burp cloths donating them to the Goodwill Well Baby program.  Yup...buy from Goodwill and then donate back to Goodwill.  It's not very profitable but the mothers and babies are happy.

A heap of flannel waiting for the washing machine and then on to ripping and sewing.  My toes always seem to want to be photographed.  They need a little humility.

For supper, I pulled out the beef stew from the freezer that Rita sent my way and made two more pie dough wraps.  One for tonight and one for later.  There is even more stew available for another wrap.

Supper with a "beef wrap". The beef stew insides came from Rita.

So the day was another good one.  My brain was in the right place looking toward fall and winter activities.  The garden is in a good place just being where it is.  It's giving me a break. I'm still waiting for my big zinnias to bloom for the first time.  They are trying but having so many bunny nibbles has not been a very pleasant experience.  The color is coming from many other places and there is plenty of it.

The word from Michigan is that Eli sheep has grown enough to be entered in the county fair.  The chance of earning some nice ribbons is possible.  I'll call later tonight to see if the judging was adequate.  And there should be another money donation to the college fund.

Eli's latest brass sand mold project are these cute little ducks.

A brass clean up with the dermal tool.

Last night's TV fare was a dud!  Fever lost, Colts lost.  But they still seem to have some entertaining moments.
