The Michigan garden...There will be no tomato patch.  That's not a favorite veg. for sure.  I did suggest that the rototiller needs to do some enlarging adding more flowers.  Maybe in a few years or so.  I think it needs some repairs.

It is so difficult to catch a Monarch sitting down.  But I got lucky this morning.

And now for Carmel.  Yesterday I hinted that there would be a little trimming and that happened this morning.  Some of the big stuff got shortened that improved the view.  Even the cleome took a hit.  Not completely but I know they will be back.  Some of the purple left.  All the pink are on the safe list.

All pink cleome...lucky me.  The purple cleome have not been pulled out. Just cut off for the moment.

Stella invited me to hit the road meaning really to go for a walk.  And we made sure that was a morning adventure.  It's one of those more energy things with stronger legs that is apparent before the morning turns into noon. Then there was coffee with a delicious bagel and creamed cheese as a pickup snack.  It's been a while and really tasted delicious.

I'm beinning to think about seed saving.  There are a few short zinnias ready to pick but I'll wait another two weeks to get started.

The seeds are behind the fuzzy centers.  I'll save them in paper envelopes.  Plastic?   Not so good.

Next year they will turn into these wonderful additions to the garden.

I started some needle work that is needed for the parament I'm working on.  I have till Oct. 1 to get it completed and back to church.  So, it's the little engine that could.  Little by little the job will be finished. We're in the green season of Ordinary Time and my parament is green.  We'll need it for the Oct. 5th communion Sunday.

A chance to use a lot of different greens. No pattern.  It's just what comes out of the needle.

Doug and I made a trip to Wild Birds for a lot of bird food.  We were totally out and now the cupboard isn't bare.  Just the pocketbook.  The Finch birds are nesting now.  One of the babies sat at the feeder for a very long time.  Sometimes eyes open, sometimes closed.  There was a slide into the birdbath.  Funny bird. He can only get better at his landing skills.

I'm thinking this little bird had tired wings.  No wings for me but sometimes there are tired legs.

There was TV time with another snooze happening at the same time.  That's a pretty good combination. Then another visit with birds and butterflies on the patio with more fall feeling air evident.  That should continue for the rest of the week.

The pepper production in the garden is awesome.  Big Bertha Peppers are the best when they become stuff peppers.  That happened for supper and there will be another big Bertha supper in a couple of days.  Making 4 servings is just as easy as making 2.  So, 4 it is.  It's a family favorite.  Two-hour old peppers from the garden are so much better by far than peppers from the grocery.

One of the best ever suppers!

  1. Stop stop stop posting such yummy pictures of supper! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! My stomach doesn't growl when I see flowers. But stuffed peppers - especially so big - are another thing altogether.
