Saturday

 Morning has broken, like the first morning AGAIN!

So, it was the second Saturday, and I was off to church early, first to arrange the bucket altar flowers and then on to Bread and Bowl.  Woo, there was a lot to do.

But before leaving I gathered grasses, Hosta leaves and some Lenten Rose leaves.  Some things never change.  I decided that some of the surprise lilies might work.  So then it really was off to church with all that I needed.  Rosie arrived at the same time, and we got to work with the pictures telling you the results.

                                         Once again flowers from Kathy made this all happen.

                             Queen Ann's Lace was an important addition to all the arrangements.

Then there was a walk down the hall to the community room where things were progressing...sort of.  We did a major mixing of pulled pork and zucchini making the main dish easier to serve.  That took a little extra time.  Bread was scarce so some was purchased. at the grocery up the street. So, a little glitch here and there was part of the morning's work.  But as usual the door opened at 11 o'clock with people to feed.  The numbers were a little smaller today.  One never knows how many are coming for lunch.  We just go with the flow.  Whoever can give us the correct number expected, should joint that smart people's club.  I say it's a crap shot!

I checked the flowers again before leaving making a few adjustments, but all is ready for Sunday's worship hour.  At least our part is ready.

Then the ride north came, and a late lunch was mine to enjoy.  My body was tired so sitting was in order and wouldn't you know, I fell asleep with a very long nap.  A very long nap.  A very long nap. Did I say a very long nap?

I decided to deliver the stole to Bob and Rita but after a phone call I decided not to deliver the stole.  Bob has been under the weather and the message I got from Dr. Schneiders nurse Julie was to avoid illnesses.  My immune system needed guarding. But I did have a great visit with Bob and Rita by phone.
                                                Final decision...NO tassels! The weaving is exquisite.

 Rita loved the altar arrangements enjoying the Q A's Lace.  O A's Lace was often seen during her Catholic years in flower arrangements on Aug 15th.  The day designated as Mary's Assumption into heaven.  I need to keep that in mind.

I'd like to make a Gina report for you all.  This is a neighbor lady majoring in projects and I'm happy to report that her latest one, clearing brush has been completed via Gina and her son.  I'm impressed with the clean back/side yard effort and the beautiful, exposed fence we now can see.  She reported that the next project would be pulling stumps.  She has started the process already with major killer stuff.  I think there is a Jeep with a winch attached that might help the process. There is more information to come at some point.
````````````````Clean as a whistle, my dad would say.  I would agree.  The picture is proof!
So the day was a busy day for a whole lot of folks.  But the time on the chair with eyes closed was what helped busy to turn into okay for the body that keeps me going.
Last but certainly not an unimportant happening will give you an idea how one prepares a sheep for showing at the 4-H fair.  It's not easy.  But, it's happening all over the country at sheep entering 4-H competitions.
                                        There is a final sheering after at least two or three.
                             Those lower legs need to be clean.  They will be fluffed at the fair.
                    Then comes an all over bath. Rub a Dub Dub.  One sheep in the shower this time.
                            A good towel off looking pretty special.  Those legs don't look bad either.
                        Ready to be shown.  Judges look for this showing position.  The lamb is on it!
 A little quiet time.  Sunday Doug Marcaida (the sheep) will be moved to the fair pen.  Monday is judging day and Thursday is the day when he will be sold to the highest bidder.  All the Mi. grandsons have done 4-H for years.  And now it's only Eli's showing. Doug M. was a bottle feed extremely tame lamb and much loved.  His sister was a winner at Bay County 4-H fair.  So, we'll soon know how Doug M does this week.
