Sunday

Another fall bloomer that is to crowded this year.  It stands tall and sturdy but needs more room.  Another good purple for yellow BE Susans.  It's called Obedient Plant.  A super good name. Maybe that's why I like it versus sprawler. I'm happy to report that the fall lettuce is showing up again.

Another starter day to the week.  And the starter day started with a walk around the block that included a good morning to Gina and Wyland on their walk.  That was a first for a Sunday morning arriving back home in time to catch that weekly ride to church. Yesterday's flower arrangements looked unusually big and wide.  Just what the sanctuary space needed, not getting lost in that huge space.  I would say the arrangement was one of those loose and airy southern things. Something I learned about at many Fellowship Music/Arts Conferences I attended years ago.

Golden Rod, ready to be more golden in a few days.

Brandon, the youth and education of children director was the preacher of the morning bring a very good message filling the mind again with challenges.  I did a lot of visiting with longtime friends.  When one has attended the same church for more than 58 years, watching generations of families grow up, there is a lot of history that floats through the mind to talk about. And as pretty much at every Sunday go to meetin' event we were among the last the building heading north again, back to Carmel.

Turning from the green of summer to the brown of fall.

Lunch happened as expected and the afternoon was a pretty much sit on the patio thing, watch a little TV and  take a nap now and then.  Nothing much more then that.  I walked the garden adding a little snipping here and there but nothing that was very noticeable.  I would say it was an old-fashioned Sunday with the temperatures in a wonderful fall place.  Not to hot and not to cold.  Just right as little bears porridges was.

A late Sunday afternoon picture of the sun low in the west shining in the shadows.

Neighbor Gina continued her marathon planting spree this afternoon.  That woman has a lot of energy although like most of us she claims once in a while to be tired.  Just once in a while.  She has taken this three-day weekend brake seriously making more changes with plants. Tomorrow could be a day of rest but then, maybe not. My last conversation with her promised a little more planting.

Just a smidgen of what has changed across the road.  This just happened today.                                                         A lot of honey suckles stumps are ready for the garbage.

The first week of Sept. seems to be somewhat busy with doctors majoring not in cancer but other things. But Friday does bring the monthly cancer shots. Nothing big, just the usual. I say another chance to see people who have become great friends for so many reasons.  I've been blessed because of cancer. That may sound strange but it's true. In a sense, I have met angels here on earth.

Another late afternoon with the sun encouraging the flowers to look their best.

So, this may be short in length, but the day has not been very complicated with stuff.  I hear in my mind... All I have needed, thy hand has provided.  Great is thy faithfulness.  Another church song to fill the mind with good thought anchoring my mind in the right place.
