Thursday.
Finally, a night of sleep that should do me well. I knew it was coming. I just didn't know the NOA or Night Of Arrival. Today, my one and only time out was a trip to church. Sat. is more than busy so I did some things today with the hope that Sat. will work better. It's all about finding minutes. What else is on the docket Sat? Who knows for sure.
The same olds to start the day, were completed. A few days ago, I learned from a text that Kimmy received an early birthday gift. Her celebration day is in Oct. Yup...it's early! The small chain saw took out the dead limbs in the lilac bush. What fun. I think something clicked when Jared saw Doug's little chain saw. And Jared's plan is to make some ash glaze with the lilac wood. That is a longer process than just cutting dead wood. It takes many rounds of sifting, sifting, sifting ash and then more of the same.
I worked on making cross patterns for the new liturgical paraments that Darren ordered to use on Communion Sundays. I have three cross sizes. The size we'll use will be determined by a committee. That's above my pay scale to determine. There are four paraments and I'd love to find the fourth person to do a bit of hand embellishment. I'm sure there is someone out there.
My hope is that one of these is in the running. The sewing machine came to life again completing or maybe almost completing the stole I showed you all a few days ago. One more idea honoring the original idea just might be the final touch.
The second sewing machine project involved a Cleveland Indians vintage jacket that was a gift from dear Nancy.
It looks even better this afternoon with a good washing and a stain removed.1948 the Indians were in the world series, and our house was going crazy. There was always a dual between my sister and brother. Was Saturday afternoon going to be an Indians game or the Metropolitan Opera. I learned a simple way to score the games.
Bob Feller and I think Herb Score were just a few names remembered. Nancy B. knows the Indians just about as well or more than I do. She gifted me with the jacket years ago. After some wrist band repairs the jacket is ready to mail to grandson Eli tomorrow.
Washing removed a lot of wrinkles. I should have waited to take a picture.I took a break from all the at home stuff needing to do some church stuff. Vases ae ready for Sunday altar flowers honoring daughter Jenny and son-in-law Mike's 10 wedding anniversary. They will make a contribution to the visual arts fund. A lot of 8:30 an Saturday B and B work is ready for whoever shows up. I should be about 30 minutes late. Some of our take home food is rescued from IPS school lunches.
Fresh pineapple. It is all prepackaged and brought to North where it is divided and taken to many lunch distribution sites. North is one of 7 sites that receive this extra food, much appreciated by community folks who eat with us. Strawberry flavored applesauce.
Collecting was happening this afternoon, and I spent some time with those folks, watching the food arrive and helping with sorting.
Back home again and I finished adjusting the wrist bands of the baseball jacket. It's looking mighty spiffy, if I say so myself. I've found a vintage red jacket on line but not a white one. and Eli should like it.
I'm working on the tassel; I am going to try something just a bit smaller. Heavy is not what I want. Then Bob and I will talk about who will wear it.
Neighbor Gina was over borrowing our two B Blues. Thank goodness. The fact that she is filling the B. Blues with all her tree clipping of the last few days, guarantees us a week off of garden/lawn/bush work for sure. I like that a whole lot. Easier on the body is a good thing.
Supper was BLT's in a bowl. That's just as yummy as a sandwich of the same. No Fever tonight BUT it's a Thursday COLT'S night. Nothing could be finer than be sitting on my chair, nap time waiting, in the evening. Woo. Preseason stuff and I'll take it! 7:30 is on the way!
