Tuesday
This little gift is such a good day starter.
Today there was a little more to show that the day wasn't a complete wash out. If I had put on my garden shoes, there might have been more. But then maybe not. My croc's are just not good working shoes being to big for my feet. Sometimes I think they are even dangerous. I probably would dump them if I were smarter.
Not a flower in site. That's because I pulled them off before the picture was taken. H. TeaI started the day as usual with patio breakfast and then a determination to walk the garden. I've been a bit lazy about that knowing that the weather is way to hot for garden stuff and the last time I walked things looked as good as they were going to get. But I did the deed. Picked up the clippers, pulled out the garden wagon and made the rounds clipping and snipping where needed. Things had fallen over, crawled under and climbed through. So there was just a tad of sprucing up telling the garden the warden was in charge again.. When the garden wagon was full I took it to the garage, loading the B Blue and I took myself inside to cool off and recuperate. Woo. I was one hot gardener. Hot in several ways.
A morning walk down the path. I spot a tomorrow flower. The red hibiscus got stripped for the day with flowers in the oven drying out with more H. Tea in mind. Flowers will be back tomorrow although that particular bush is sluffing off. It's the end of the year for Mrs. Red. The pink displaying a red center keeps on giving for a while.
Another large drift of flowers with beautiful ornamental grass smack dab in the middle of the picture. A gift from Rosie years ago. This plant has divided its self now found in three different beds.I spent time cooling off, taking it easy thinking there would be more of something for the day. There was a hint of rain for the afternoon.
Mid afternoon Doug found a Swallowtail caterpillar eating Dill. I more it to the cage safe from wasps. Almost every morning I see a Tiger Swallowtail and Black Swallowtail flitting around.
There were flannel sheets calling and I got busy with fabric. Another sheet was washed and I did a whole lot of ripping sheets ready for sewing into burp cloths in a couple of months. I could do more shopping soon for more sheets. I really enjoy the hunt.
Plaid with little white bears and penguins and plaid with Minnie Mouse. Yup. Water the plants is on her list.In the afternoon I added the dried H. leaves to the bag. I have a stash for tea this winter. I should try some hot tea but not today. That's so easy to save for a cold day.
Then shopping Goodwill took over. No luck at Glendale but the Castleton store had a few flannel sheets. I did purchase another cute little girl outfit for school 43. I'm allowed to pretend I have a girl granddaughter when shopping.
Now isn't this just the cutest outfit. At the Castleton store I decided one sheet was enough for now at 5.99 instead of 3.99. It's a new one and rather heavy. The second possibility is there and won't leave my brain for a while.
Pretty, pretty. Now I'm looking for something green, perhaps.Back home with another experience with rush hour traffic. Supper and guess what. The Fever chose to entertain on our 58 WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. That all gets capital letters as you probably noticed. It's been a very good 58 years with the same guy. So we're on to 59. We might go out to eat on the 60th. Who knows.
Nothing special...Keeping it simple and easy to clean! Look at those tomatoes. They are just the best. Doug thought it was a bowl of watermelon!I really have never liked celebrating marker dates. Now the numbers just keep getting bigger and bigger. Not exactly what I want. But it's been a very good marriage. And DeeCassian. Now you can remember your eye surgery date has an accompanying event. Hope all is well with you.
