Wednesday
Up and busy for the day. Paper read, yogurt and B Berries eaten. I finished cleaning the kitchen ending with flowers on the table.
I filled one of neighbor Kathy's vases and left it at her door. I hope it was a good thing to wake up to. Gina stopped over for a smidgen of time with Wyley and coffee in hand. All the saved seeds were moved to the garage where they should have been weeks ago. The house got a sweeping from the top to the middle area. That means all with the exception of Doug's lower level, man cave, you think? The preference is for me to stay out of that area. So, I do.
Empty space fillers needed at this time of the summer. I prefer this kind of bunny. We were off to Aldi's to fill the refrigerator and more. And we did. Woo. Aldi's was expensive today with the usual stuff. So, what is Kroger like. Once again, no cottage cheese at Aldi's so we motored across the street to Kroger for the missing item.
The refrigerator looks a lot healthier. And that means I'll be in a better place as well. Lunch came along as usual, as did supper.
I spotted some empty places in the garden. Sometimes plants just say "I'm done" at this time in the summer. I pulled up a drying up zinnia and the roots were so unhealthy for some reason I don't understand that when all around the flowers are in great shape. So, the tried-and-true fillers were put into action where once there were flowers. I'm beginning to think I'm seeing some State Fair Zinnias starting to bloom. These are some no bunny has touched.
A space holder belonging to my dad..I was sitting for a spell, and Doug came in with a Swallowtail caterpillar on parsley. The first that I have seen. They have used Rue and Dill. Now Parsley! So, it got me busy with fixing up a lot of parsley to keep this "fellow" happy.
The Butterfly cage now supports one swallowtail, two munching caterpillars and 1 chrysalis.
I cleaned out the monarch's cage and added the swallowtail food. They should get along nicely eating at their own restaurants. The Monarch's ordered a fresh meal even though they are fat and sassy soon to be starting their next stage of development. Caterpillars are poopie little animals, impossible to learn about cleanliness. Their systems work well during the caterpillar stage.
The pitcher is full of H.with M. Tea. Doug made his usual tea filling his Stanley thermos again. That usually is a winter thing, but he must be chilling with the temps not in the mid 80's today.
Yes, there is a pretty pink hibiscus but the ice tea is from the dark reds which are mostly gone for now.We spent a little time with Andrew before he, Eric and Kat took off with a carload of stuff anticipating Andrew's first year of college life. Right now his major is Criminal Justice subject to change as it always might happen. He's excited and I'm even more excited for him. The beat goes on with a Goshen theme starting with his great grandmother, his grandmother and her two siblings, Eric and now Andrew. More exciting days are ahead for all of us.
