Friday

I'm sharing a picture received today flying and sitting in almost the heart of Indianapolis.                                                  No name of country bumpkin for this little guy.

Today was a sweatshop day.  It started before 8 and I escaped at 2:30. All because of a crazy goal I set for myself.  Most unrealistic to say the least.  But I did it. The goal was to finish 100 burps before evening today.  Persistence paid off.  My next sewing goal should be more realistic.  We'll see how that goes.  One "reason for the goal was to deliver the burps to church tomorrow for Ginny and her crew to be picked up Sunday.  Tomorrow, I'm dragging things to church.  Not Sunday when that usually happens.  Tomorrow morning is soup kitchen work. So I'm off to see the wizard, again!

Here is a hummingbird moth, sometimes called a spinks moth, sometimes called a hummingbird moth.

Early afternoon there was a walk around the block.  Once again, I was chased off the new walkway by guys putting the finishing touches on that particular walk. Roladers and bumpy lawns don't mix so well. There was a  huge truck chasing me down the walk.  Yikes again.

A little kitchen stuff happened along with a garden walk.  A big dish of icecream perked me up enough to finish the last 10 burps.  Yeah!  Done, finished, over, completed!

The garden report...Last evening I watered the lettuce.  It sure doesn't look like lettuce, but I'll give it more time.  Maybe it's a new kind of lettuce.  We should be eating red beets.  Yesterday's pick of zinnias seems to be drying well.  Our second summer is helping that along.

Susans are going dormant.  Monday starts the take down filling the B Blues as has happened for many years.  This year there is a brand new hedge trimmers.  Super news for sure. I don't love the birds enough to let the Susans hang around looking ugly. Clean up happens for the gardens in the fall. I would say another reason for that crazy sewing goal.

Supper came along as usual and then I heard my body say take it easy, girl.  So, I did for the rest of the day. The burps are packed, waiting at the door.  So are the plastic bags for soup kitchen tomorrow morning.

                                                                Ready, willing and able.
