Monday

My last hibiscus flower will open tomorrow.  Then comes 2026.

You heard about those slow days.  Well, today WASN'T one of those.  Today kept me hopping away faster than a bunny.  I've seen bunnies lately and they are fast.  In fact, one went tearing across the yard as I fetched in the morning paper!

                                                        Another late blooming plant.

I left home at 8:30 for a meeting at church.  The car carried the green stole and chasable and more. On arrival, things got spinning like a mixer.  Kathy met us and changed the banners in the west entrance.  Then Heidi, Kathy and I were off to the east hall to plan and do some magic.  Well, sort of.  Darren's next series of sermons starting Sunday are on prayer.  I've mentioned Prayer Stations before.  We started putting them together.  The first one being a prayer wall.  We all helped to get that started and Heidi finished it. Some would say done!

Such nice color in this bed standing tall.

We talked for quite a while about the labyrinth and other areas planned.  After morning prayers, we cleared the center of the chapel, and the labyrinth will be placed tomorrow afternoon.  So, we'll be back at it again tomorrow seeing that through to the finish line.

Yes...it's my sage needing a redo.

We worked on the other areas, almost all in the east hall with one in the sanctuary and another in the west lobby.  The cherry will come tomorrow.  Planning for the stations takes a lot of talking, thinking and praying with phone calls, shopping trips and even an order from amazon.  It takes a group (village) you have heard.  We'll be ready Sunday.

This clump of Pampas grass is blooming.  The others are still to show up.

On the way home I stopped at Patty's with a white chasuble and stole.  The last of four to be delivered. Then off to Hobby Lobby looking for a prayer candle rack.  No luck. It probably is an online thing. Then home for lunch.  Then back in the car to IU North for a blood pressure check and more talk.  There are still questions and no answers coming.  I'm sure in good time we'll figure this out.  I've learned a whole lot of patience after my first surgery. Then a stop at the drugstore for pills and then BACK home so hungry I had a second yogurt!

Catone Aster berries.  I wish they would hang around for a while, but they don't.

Phone calls were made to Susan with the suggestion of sharing her beautifully crafted Mandela's at that prayer center.  She said yes!  Another call to my Kisqali folks about ordering more medicine.  Another call to Heidi sharing all the information I had learned after seeing her this morning.  Staying up to date is important on a project like this.

There was an hour to sit and work on the blog.  Then since this was the second Monday of the month, we were off to McAlister's for a meal with other North folks.  Woo.  I would say this was a North day for sure.  Another one to enjoy.

Not very many but there are a few.  Mexican Sunflowers with a "PURE" orange color.

Since tonight will be a Monday night, could there be a football game.  I'll need to check that out.  The Colts had a W as well as the Fever.  Playoffs for them are coming.  And even more exciting for some...A Monarch butterfly was released tonight.  Come on caterpillars.  You have a job to do.

  1. At what temperature did you bake the prayer wall? All the flowers are lovely - I like the catone aster berries.
