Monday...Labor Day
So, what does one do on Labor Day. It depends on who you are. Some to the real labor like mothers to be. Some work in hospitals, grocery stores and more. Some labor making new garden beds. Some travel on airplanes. And, some just don't do anything. It's just a day in the year for many options.
When the evening sun shines on the flowers of the grass, you might think they are electrified.I did a rather early around the block with Stella. It was a big block. There are days when my hip hurts and walking does work the kinks out and my guess is that walking moves the muscles to a better place. Why else would walking help?
And now the yellow peppers are turning to orange. I think age has something to do with that. I'm not there yet but some would say the guy living in the white house has something to do with orange.I did some weed pulling. Raked a few places out making the area look a little cleaner and then snipped off some Becky Daisies preparing them for a move. A few neighbors expressed an interest in Becky's and I'm ready now for them to go elsewhere. Not all of them but it's time to share with others.
Today I heard about the death of Lana the first-born daughter of Jennifer, our church office administrator and dad Oscar. With only a few weeks on this earth, Lana has moved to her heavenly family. Her heart had not developed correctly and was only able to support life for a few weeks of earth living. We mourn with her parents her passing.
So pretty once again.Thinking of supper, BLTs came to mind. Now to bring that about would be a Labor of Love. So, the bacon was fried, the huge tomato got sliced and the specialty bread got toasted. With a lettuce leaf and mayo added, supper was ready.
Sorry Dee. This was yummy with happy gowns after every bite coming from the long pants guy.
Another good chat with Gina after supper. She spent the day working on a sunshine bed, digging grass and preparing dirt for planting. Tomorrow it's back to pay work. This weekend it was all physical work.
Looking pretty snazzy I would say.Doug spent time picture taking today, computer looking and a little reading filled in the cracks. So that was the 2025 Labor Day for us. We have a beginning plan for hearing aids. Let's hope it works.
I'm glad you're sorry - that eases the pain of not being able to taste the BLTs. From what you wrote, Doug may have enjoyed them a little extra for me.
