Saturday

It's Zinnia Time at the Russell's.

This morning was spent at North providing a noon meal for the community.  And the morning was an energy taker.  But before that happened there were a few other things on the to do list.

I delivered the 100 burp cloths to Ginny's porch on the way to church.  Then unloaded an arm full of things to added to the prayer centers to make them a bit more comfortable.  And then it was off to the community room to start the morning of meal making.  And once again I had about 30 minutes to myself to really get everything in place ready for the rest of the crew to jump into their workspaces.

Some of the workers walked through the prayer centers later in the morning.  The altar flowers were placed.  Some extra cardboard found the recycling bin and a lot of people were fed.  The food lasted for the morning, and we walked out of the building around 12:30.

It was a busy morning with a lot to do and by noon, my bucket of energy was leaking a lot of energy.  The bucket was empty! So, the afternoon included lunch, sleep, some football watching and just sitting giving what I live in a rest and time to give some muscles recuperation time. Feeding folks takes a lot of walking.

The afternoon weather has been a bit unexpected.  The clouds were very heavy on the drive home.  Something not experienced for a while.  And then there was some rain. What a surprise after a few days of unexpected heat and sunshine.

The caterpillars continue to pupate, eat parsley and just surprise us again.  I'm waiting to see swallowtails but that seems to be a slow process this year.

I expect the rest of the day to be slow and easy.  Nothing else is planned and that will be easy to honor.

Tomorrow is the first day of a new week.  Another good church day.  It also starts the last week of a three week series of pills.  Then a week with no medication, a full body scan, blood work followed by a Dr. Schneider cancer visit.  Pray that my mind will be ready for whatever the news may be.  God be near.

As I remember, Life is not waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain.  I think I've done a lot of that and find no reason to change course.

Surprise, surprise.  A few Becky's are hanging around.
