Thursday

Today would have frustrated some people.  I just call it a surprise day with things planned that just went SOUTH. Yup.  We could blame it on Georgia and Texas. It was an out of my hands sort of day.  So, the best thing was to just let it go.  Poof.  Gone.

The day started with the usual stuff and then I decided that working on the second of two Greek crosses would happen.  I started the second cross last night but lost interest thinking it was better just to not push through.  So, this morning I finished the second cross.  The light certainly brought some interest to the threads.

These will be at the bottom of the stole with more embellishments.  I think!!!                                                        I see some black threads that will be removed at some point.

I glanced at the caterpillars this morning and my goodness.  They sure were hungry yesterday.  Bare stems were everywhere.  So, another trip to the garden grocery store, parsley center.  The change was monumental, and they all were in business again.  Hum.  This is a tonight picture.  There are bare stems.

You may see six but there are seven.  Two more containers with Rue and Parsley hold a few more.                                    They will become swallowtail butterflies. It's a big family.

Then life became a little medical.

But on the way to the medical world (IUNorth)I stopped at Michael's for some iron on facing to help my needle stuff move to completion.  Michaels didn't have anything close to what I needed.  Then I went to Hobby Lobby.  Uck.  I don't approve of their ("religious") treatment of woman. But they had what I needed.

Then it was off to I U North.  A few years ago, there was a little mishap that made the doctors think the carotid arteries needed a look at.  So that happens yearly.  So off to IU North instead of Methodist for this year's picture.  I had the scan completed and then it was off to a second doctor for the results.  I stopped at my Primary Dr. office in the same hall to get a prescription for Covid booster that Walgreen asked for.  The news...only Walgreens demanded a prescription.  IU North and CVS Pharmacy had them.  Then it was down the hall to see the C Artery doctor.  Oops...that appointment had been changed to October.  There is a new doctor.  OK.  No big deal.  I stopped at the IU Pharmacy on my way out the door.  They didn't have the Covid shot.  I stopped at CVS on the way home.  It was their lunch hour with the pharmacy closing in 5 minutes.  At this point I almost laughed at all the OOPS that were part of my morning.  Australia has this problem. Today was an Australian Day in Carmel. The good news...I found great handy cap parking when I needed it.

So there was more needle work time and at 3:00 DOUG AND I went to CVS at Nora and GOT our Covid Shots.  Woo.  We were awarded two bags of popcorn.  I selected a unicorn sticker. Today's effort was Yoman's work!  I persisted. Don't tell a woman it can't be done!  There is always a way.

There was a lot of time today spent at other place than home. But the minutes at home were spent with the needle moving closer to DONE. Doug's mother would say finished.  Done meant you cooked it.  So closer to FINISHED. Not quite but closer.

The next step...sewing the cross to the fabric with the sewing machine.                                                                              Then it happened! Done-Finished-Done!

So, we finished off the stuffed peppers for supper.  Doug wondered if there were more peppers in the garden.  Yes, but we need to let them grow.  The TV was filled with JR. today.  Happy to say I saw just a smidgen.  That was enough. There's football tonight.  Dear Dallas.  They seem to get preferential treatment. Maybe not but it seems!  Today was an OK day.  Attitude was in the right place.  Thanks be to God for many things.  Life is good.
