Sunday

The flowers at the altar celebrated the 92 birthday of Robert Albright Schilling, our much loved and long time now retired minister of music.  One arrangement went to their home and another one was gifted to us by Rita, Bob's wife.  And Bob, we wish for you many more birthday celebrations.

Beautiful fall colors that make this a thrilling sight for us.

Another quiet Sunday just as it should be but isn't always that way.  What still seems a bit strange is our not getting to church for choir practice meaning getting a folder, finding the music and getting to ones seat ready for practice. That always took at least a nine o'clock start, or close to that.  When we were adoing hospitality time it was a leave home at 6:45 or so. Now when leaving home around 10 we have plenty of time to find our pew.  Today I almost didn't make it.  My watch was 10 minutes slow.  No one waited for me!
An old October picture from an old neighbor who no longer is a neighbor.  But the picture is cute.

Today the men/s choir sang the anthem and offertory.  So good, so good.   We arrived not so early but it did give me time to connect with some people about Advent needs.  I talked to a lot of people for a lot of reasons and think we're in pretty good shape.  One never once to step on other people's programs so early connections makes it work a little better.

Jill preached and as always it was great to hear the message from a woman's perspective.  She never disappoints. We have been truly blessed with her being with us.

Home for lunch as usual and then I made a trip to Aldi's to get just a few things.  This time the winter coat left the closet. Sunday is the worst day to be in a grocery, so the list was just the necessities.  We'll be back later in the week for the rest of what is needed.  But I forgot to go to Kroger's for distilled water.  What a bummer and it was so nearby.  I ended up at Meijers for water, and I added a little ice cream and lemonade for Doug.  Just a few unnecessities but some must haves. Ice cream!

Then home again.  The Colts had the 4 o'clock slot today so it was time for more than one reason for the chair.

In between times were once again spent with fabrics.  All is ripped and ironed. The sewing machne will come next.  Not today but next on the list.  The next 100 is finished and then the next 50 have  been marked and ready for the little engine that could.

The Colts had a very good game.  It has been a great year so far.  And it should continue.

So, the day have been a good day.  I'm feeling healthy with just a few aches and pains I call old age.  Walking makes the kinks disappear.  Tomorrow is another Y day with the 1 1/2 hr. program of Living Strong.  And the beat goes on.
