Sunday

There is always a time before we leave for church that is usually two or more hours in length.  And it usually is filled with sewing.  That happened this morning again with another 10 burps to add to the stash.  So the numbers keep increasing. And the machine just hummed along like it should.

I happy to add that Jack Frost (remember him?) was in no hurry to return but I'm sure he will be back. I made a garden walk to check on the cannas.  Should I dig or should I not?  That is the question.

Now what is the answer. They seem to be a little stressed.

We left for church at 10 arriving at 10:30. Heidi and I made a tour through the church looking for tables that we use for All Saints Sunday.  And we found all of them.  I talked to Pat and he is willing to move them Tuesday morning into the Sanctuary.  We will place them, and the visual arts crew will fill bowls with sand and place candles.  We give worshipers the privileged of lighting a candle for a loved one no longer with them honoring their contribution to the family as well as to the world.  It's always a glorious morning of remembrance. One we all look forward to every year. I think the gut work we did this morning will be a big help on Tuesday.

Still with us. The picture was taken this afternoon.

Today was the day we celebrate Finance Sunday, receiving pledges from the congregants. It's always filled with a lot of wonderful music.  And that was true this morning.  The children sang as well as the choir.  It was another glorious morning in so many ways.

Evidence of a deer in the front yard "loving" the Buckeye "tree".  They were here first.

And our friends, the Mamlins, were back at church in full force.  Joe after a fall and grandson Charlie and girlfriend from Chicago and of course sister of Sarah Ellen, Deanne from Atlanta Ga. It was such fun to see another large family unit coming from many places to be in church worshiping with us.

Evidence of a woodpecker preparing a winter home, a perfect round hole in the siding of             our neighbor's house. Not such a great idea but they were here first.

Then it was home again after talking to many folks after church.  Lunch happened and then keeping track of two football games at the same time became the 1:30 goal.  That wasn't always the case because sleep was part of the two hours of play.

I did some research of woodpeckers and holes and the big WHY at this time of year and sent it on to the neighbors.  There are reasonable reasons.  Sometimes we just don't know enough about the WHY.

A walk around the block was a gift I gifted myself.  The price was right.  The location the best that included worthy entertainment and benefits.  Four in one.  What a deal.

Last Sunday altar flowers still looking good celebrating Bob Schillings 92 birthday.

So, it was a perfect afternoon with a little of this and that. Then doing it all over again.  A good afternoon of rest for planning the days ahead.  Miles to go before I sleep.  Was that R. Frost?
