Friday
The morning started with an 8 O'clock walk to get the paper. NO paper at 8. It was late but Doug got his funny time as usual. Breakfast happened for the birds just as the rain started. That was a surprise not lasting very long. It would seem that a gray day was going to be with us. One job for the day included pulling the last of the zinnias for seeds. It's OVER! Boo Hoo! They are drying near the register in a large paper bag.
I picked up the knitting again and worked in spirts to get the next scarf off the needles. That took some time since the scarf was smaller than usual as the day began. I went to bed a bit earlier than usual last night. The new scarf for today is on the needles. If I give it another two hours, done!
Today was cookie day. Two batches of C Chips for Georgia are in the freezer. I've got to keep the Mi. grandsons happy and that makes their grandma happy. Noah got his full plate tonight. And then there is dear Andrew who plays left out. The rest of us can eat around the edges when the time comes.. The next baking includes sweet rolls. Adam just can't seem to get enough. Well, maybe that includes more than Adam if I'm thinking correctly. The Turkey this year will be baked here and warmed there. Easier on my mind when we're all together. With preparing a few things here, then freezing, makes it possible to pass the work in Georgia on to other family members. That's the plan we've come to. So, those are some Thanksgiving notes.
I did some baby burp sewing and then there was also knitting in between. I spent a little time at the Y in the afternoon doing some machines and decided after 20 minutes I was too tired to be there. I skipped a Silver Sneakers Class. I headed to Kroger to buy a broom. A broom lasts a long time, but rust decided the broom handle was no longer needed. I wasn't asked. Now there is a new one that swept a lot of dirt from the kitchen and patio with a long handle.
Supper is over and the body screams for a chair tonight. So I'm listening. Tomorrow is church soup kitchen morning. There is always something that keeps me busy. I just need to think about keeping up at a decent rate. The gift that has kept giving all week are words the choir sang last Sunday. I also have sung during my choir years. By Hayes...Oh, Lord, in thee have I trusted. Let me never be confounded. What wonderful words to walk with playing in my head. So it was a good day with a little tiredness mixed in. Some days are like that. Maybe a nap would have changed that.
