Tuesday

 

There is good news.  The living room windows are CLEAN.  If you were wishing for something better,  sorry.  Maybe next time my brain will surprise me and you.  The weather was great and better yet, I remembered the windows.  

The morning started a bit slow with knitting.  Five minutes into the scarf and it was finished.  I just wasn't in the mood for those five minutes last night.  I started a new scarf, but it's sort of stuck in wait, needing to do other things. Last night's football news...Dallas lost and Arizona was on a roll for sure. 

I did a little delivery of Soup Kitchen take out clams to church and more clams to be marked with heating instructions taken to Rita.  So, I was up and down Meridian Street which took care of the rest of the morning. 

Since the weather was great, I pulled a few more zinnias and straw flowers for seeds.  There has been no hard frost. The Dahlias are waiting for their digging. Neither has the other BIG Dahlia grower KO done an ounce of digging. I follow her lead. The last bunch of zinnias are decorating the kitchen table.  We're having a beautiful November day so outside is where I want to be.  

I watched a little election news and that put me to sleep for the afternoon nap.  Then it was back to the kitchen making Amish Split Pea Soup for supper.  That's tonight, tomorrow night and then maybe some time in the freezer.  It's delicious but 5 cups of soup go a long way.  

It's been a simple day.  Nothing urgent. Just what came to mind including windows.  I was thinking. I don't seem to see other people washing windows.  Does that happen in 2025?  

One of these day's I'm walking to neighbor Brian with my computer.  No pictures make this blog a quicker post but You and I both like to see other things added.  Yes.  One of these days! There probably will be knitting tonight.  I wonder if the sewing machine misses me.  Probably NOT!  And we'll see how the election pans out.

 Another great celebration with family with a few little twists as sometimes families can produce.  But celebrate we did with lots of food and lots of card games and just lots of everything that makes memories.  We're tired and glad to say the celebration as good as it was, is over for another year.  And we're looking forward to seeing what a year from now brings.  Today was a day of picking up the pieces to move into busy December. Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

Amazing Saturday

 For many reasons it has been an amazing day.  One to remember as long as memory allows me.   Once again sleep did not stick with me, so I was once again out of bed around 1 last night.  I thought of checking the IU Portal for whatever it was going to tell me.  And it did a lot of talking about the scan that happened Wednesday.  The Easter portal news is that all cancer related things seem to be pretty stable with even some slight improvement in one area. Ever so slight but that still is great news.  So. for now, I feel like the stone has been rolled away and new life is with me.  Thanks be to God.  So back to bed and I slept till 6.  I'll take it with Thanksgiving.  Breakfast came and the clock proved it was time to leave for Church to get a jump on Easter visuals before the crew arrived.                 New members Hannah and Andrew working in the chapel with the lamb and...
