Saturday
One of the banners that was removed the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.
I'm celebrating today with a day of rest. One day early but I just might as well have two in a row. The celebration really began last night with 8 1/2 hours of sleep. Woo. What a tremendous gift my body has given me. I must remember to gift back to what I live in. Lesson learned. Remembered? I hope so. The exhaustion count is high and lasts long when I land in the ditch after doing more than I should. This week I wasn't very good. In fact...Bad, bad!
There really is proof matrical arts is in my life although I must admit...I'm slow. Here is teacher and student. The M A is called Joe Do. Joe is long which takes a lot of stretching to control. We've been taught three moves. Putting them all together is the goal. That's sort of hard when I can't remember the second and third to practice. Thank goodness for good teachers. So, it was an easy morning with breakfast as usual. Good diabetic numbers and the weighing scales said all was well. There have been no ups or downs with pounds in quite a while. That's super good. Yogurt and almonds and protein drinks are doing good things along with other decent regular few to no carb eating options.
Such a sweet thing. My church buddy, now third grader Logan gave me purple poodle Arnette for a Valentines gift. Since the new Mich. black poodle's short name is Arnie, I thought Arnette would be appropriate. She is such a good puppy. Logan taught her the no barking trick. She was very well behaved in church doing a better job than her new owner. She has earned more church trips. The thanksgiving cactus is a bit confused. It's a perfect fit for this house. The flower is even bigger now. One more bud is soon to bloom.Last night I started another scarf. Just started with about an inch on the needles. This morning, I continued with more knitting, but the pace is pretty slow. Since the snow has left for now, I might have lost my moe-joe. When retrieving the paper, I discovered the north wind doth blow and we shall have snow. Well, a little is predicted.
This morning, I tackled the no blog picture problem. I hate working on the computer that I just don't understand. Another computer hoop to jump through appeared and this morning I got lucky with another try. I added a very interesting picture from the Michigan kids to yesterday's blog, and I'll add it at the end of this one. I don't want anyone to miss it. Andrew, home from college is going to be my computer teacher Monday afternoon. Jared will say he has a challenge. So far Kimmy is my favorite teacher. Sorry Jared. As Edith Ann would add. That's the truth! I'm not a very good student when JB is coaching me.
Another banner removed the Sunday before Ash Wednesday. The afternoon was slow and easy finding basketball games. Speaking of basketball games. I reminded Doug at supper last night about the Purdue I U game. True to form. I forgot all about them one hour later. This morning, I asked Seri who won. Good grief. Missing the game wasn't a loss at all. Purdue won with a huge score. I like close games. This one...64 IU 94 Purdue. I wonder if IU went to McDonalds at the half and came back for the last half needing a nap. There are so many BIG 10 teams now. I U is pretty much in the bottom quarter of teams right now. Michigan is number one again.
The Alleluia Cards were placed in the box. All three banners will return Easter Sunday. The cards will be found among the altar flowers and windowsills.I spent some time with paint cans again. Monday, Y Living Strong members will add words of encouragement to the rocks, keeping a few for personal distribution and other rocks will go to the box for rocks at the entrance to the cancer center at I U North. Patients can choose an encouragement rock as they come and go for cancer treatments.
Paint Pens will spell words like LOVE, HOPE, PEACE, Cheer. You get the idea.I hope we can continue to have projects that keep our minds in a good place with positive thoughts for others and for ourselves when needed. A couple of weeks ago I gifted the group with scarves. They are great for winter but soon will be packed away till the cold appears again.
I decided I needed a trip out. This time I turned north ending up at HL for a little bit more than two skeins of yarn. The place was full of Easter decorations. And now you can see I found some early blooming tulips. The bunnies cost more than I wanted to pay even though all the stuff was on sale. So, for the bunny, I checked in at Goodwill. And sure enough, for less than two dollars I found the cutest bunny to add to the collection. He got a new purple and pink ribbon for this years festivities.
I decided to leave the snowman for company until the weather is warmer. So the day was a good one. I got another one. Those four words come from a positive cancer ad I've heard on TV. A mother, stating her gratitude as she wakes up in the morning realizing she will have another day with her daughter who has cancer but still with her.
To hot to handle but today the kiln was emptied. More work happens and then it's Etsy time. This spoon rest was born in this firing. It has my name on it! Woo, woo.
