Wednesday.
First. The picture less blog last night wasn't the computer's fault. I was just too lazy to do pictures. That's the word from the confessional.
For today. It was an eventful day. Well, for this ageing lady yes...eventful. It started with a trip to IU North to see my primary doctor. That's an event! We discussed stuff and she seemed to be OK with my messing around with a few things. Well, maybe. I'll see her again in 6 months. I think the paper I brought with me explaining the details helped a lot. Having so many doctors makes the 6 months' time a good break between visits. Many other visits will happen in March!
Then back home again for a smidgen of time with lunch and off to pick up Rita. I delivered a container of beef soup for a supper meal. And we were off again with what I called a mystery trip which took us back to I U North.
We met the woman who started the rock painting project at the hospital, doing most of the rock painting herself. Her husband built the table holding the rocks. She was thrilled to see our contribution, and we were thrilled to meet her. More rocks will be coming when the need arises. About half of the Living Strong collection found a place on the table.
I googled Rock Ministry and found more information about this ministry.
I made a second stop at the primary doctor's office while rock dropping at IU North, gifting a large Rockwell picture book. We talked about Rockwell paintings during my first visit this morning..
Craig met us at the car. We saw immediately woodworking skills of benches and book library in front of his house. We enjoyed the sun filled moments of picture taking. Then we were on our way to see the studio Craig calls home during the day. Craig is a member of our Living Strong group and a retired art teacher. His studio was a fun place to be. We had a great visit with a whole lot of talking and picture taking.
He's working now with oil paints with a lot of in progress pictures we were privileged to see. It was an enjoyable afternoon. On the way home we made a detour to see a bridge spanning White River Craig was depicting in one of the paintings.
A few years ago Craig was a bike builder. He painted this large painting at that time. So, back home we went with Rita delivered to her house and me to mine. There was bird feeding and watching time. Naps were added and starting a new scarf happened. The one in process was finished early this morning. The night ended a bit short of where I thought it should end.
Supper happened with more soup and the evening followed as it usually does. No big surprises there. I would say the day was a good one. Encouragement rocks found their first home. Our minds were stimulated by the Craig visit becoming aware of how another friend finds fulfillment. And life moves on to the next adventure. There is always one more somewhere.
Tomorrow will be a shortened version of Living Strong and then on to two other classes at the Y. At least that is the plan for now.
