Thursday.

Old fashioned Iris.  If I could remember correctly I think they came from Dougs dad's garden.

A cool start to this Thursday.  I had three layers of clothing on for most of the morning never feeling very hot.  I started the day thinking Dahlias and space.  So I checked out my idea of moving plants and whacking off some Lambs ear plants making more space available.

But first Kathleen arrived.  I dug up one more Lenten Rose plant and cut everything into more clumps.  There were a total of 9 I think.  She arrived and we did a complete walk around.  Kathleen loaded up and additionally I gave her two kinds of ginger.  One came from a mutual North friend, no longer on this earth but remembered with great memories.

After Kathleen left, it was time to attack the soon to be D. Bed.  The Lambs Ear lost some of their width and once again the stepping stones were moved to make more room.  Five plants moved to another bed.  I think there is room for at least 14 seed dahlias and perhaps three tuber related plants.  That's my best guess.  There was a good contribution to the B Blue Bin.  I'm looking for cheap tomato cages.  Dahlias must be staked.

                                                                            Getting ready.

Then it was on to the rest of the patio garden looking for Jenny and fluffing the dirt.  It's a super way to keep weeds from growing.  So far so good.

I made a trip to Patty H. to check out some stuff and on the way I stopped at Habigs for seeds I think I can use in the Cottage Garden.  After the Patty stop there was a Rosie stop for another look at seeds and I also picked up a Sorrel plant and Curry plant for the herb garden.

Sorrel for salads.  Curry...smells so good. The Swamp Milkweed should be in tomorrow.

And another day with something to show for being here along with time to give the body a rest.

Another garden lettuce for supper with hardboiled eggs from Michigan.  I wish we lived closer.  Eggs is one reason.

Beautiful and so much better than store eggs.
Now here is another reason to live near Jared.  There usually is a flock of these orange birds by July or sooner.  The first one arrived today.  Not May 5th.  Probably forgot to look at the calendar.  I'll keep looking and having positive thoughts.
