Friday
This Dahlia is looking good. It is far from the bunny paradise where food was free.
Last night I pulled the hose off the roller so this morning IT was waiting for me. And IT just would not go away. Darn! So as usual after putting it off with all the other things that get the morning moving I attached the sprinkler, set the devise to the shape needed and turned on the water. Resetting happened with each bed that was watered and more beds were blessed with the far beds still waiting. The job was sort of fun with the unexpected spray of water cooling me off from time to time. So some places in the garden I'm hearing a sigh of relief from the week of heat. I'm ignoring those needing water. Mean gardener! But please, the far bed is filled with mostly drought tolerant plants.
Tomorrow I'll work on protection from the animals for these low to the ground tomatoes. While waiting for the sprinkling to finish I was able to fluff some of the beds removing some weeds emerging even growing in what was a dry bed of dirt. So what my eyes can see from the house looks pretty good. When checking the weather for the coming days, there could be a possibility of rain on the way. How much? That remains to be seen. Once again there is that HOPE option. If all else fails I'll pull the hose to the far gardens.
This little lady doubled in size overnight. I've got to keep my eye on her.Late morning brought on more sleepy time. We made a trip to Wild Birds for suet. Mr. Big Woodpecker was here last night and the cupboard was bare. Poor bird. Friday is wash day and Doug once again did the wash. What a guy!!! The first load is folded and drawered and soon the second load will have the same in the draw lodging.
Rose of Sharon starting to bloom.Soccer is on the dance card along with lots of hydrating ice water. I'm loving this entertainment with always the unexpected happening.
Neighbor Gina starting another HUGE project. Staining her fence. Some needs to be done by hand. Some can be done with a spray gun. It's a HUGE project for a HUGE fence. She's not afraid to tackle anything.
