Friday
This morning started with buckets of energy. After in the house morning stuff I was in the garden looking for what ever needed looking for. I was greeted as usual by the little bunny sitting in the middle of a clover patch as usually happens. It took him a while to be on his way which didn't surprise me a bit. I guess he's getting use to me. I would like to see him on his way although I must admit the bunny food seems to be clover at this point.
The first of many. Hibiscus tea coming one of these days. The garden is starting to look mid-summer as the calendar would also agree with. Things are pretty much the same every day although flowers are still filling out. The second canna in the garden is showing yellow color although it has a way to go. The red cannas are still to show up. The morning surprises are a bit sparce unless I find another tomato turning from green to red. Or the hibiscus starts to show off. Peppers are returning and the egg plant seems to be taking off along with the healthy row of parsley.
I pulled the hose out and did a lot of watering. This time more than usual with two areas getting their first drink of the summer from me. That made me feel better along with those who were blessed with water. The prediction was for rain this afternoon. We had thunder but the sun continued to shine for most of the day. A few things left the garden this morning like tired lettuce and a few places received a trimming looking like someone cared for them. There was some dead heading zinnia flowers which resulted in a bee sting when I didn't notice a bee in my hand. I guess the flower bee squeeze wasn't appreciated.
Around 9:30 Bob and Rita and Jennifer arrived. We ladies moved slowly through the garden while Bob took it easy sitting at different places as we perused the grounds. That took quite a while which we all enjoyed chewing on different leaves from the herb garden. I sent them home with cabbage, a cucumber and tomato. More are on the way.
Looking at the Fairy Land tree trunk. The rest of the day turned from busy into lazy. I decided to see what was happening in the world and guess what...it was the same old same old as Jared B.R. would say. Not much seems to happen that would surprise me. So...what did I do next? Sleep. It was a wonderful use of the next hours. Warm weather and a busy morning helped that along.
Here's my early morning buddy if he is behaving. There was supper as always and then we had the honor of picking up and delivering Eric on to his home. Visiting is always good. And there was a stop at the drug store for the usual pills on the way back home. Just another destination stop that happens regularly, easy to do after an Eric delivery.
Crocosmia! I thought I bought a red one. It doesn't seem so. This might even be better.Another day in the bank so to speak. One that I find enjoyment in knowing that others like to do garden walks with me. This week I name a Ramona week. Next week seems to be filled with visits to my medical friends. It would seem the tide has turned. I'm happy to take my turn, blessed to have great medical care.
What beautiful friends. . . And that hibiscus would have happily danced on the ear of any of my young Hawaiian friends of long ago. . . lovely hula hands. . .
