Thursday

A Holly Hock living at the Jared Russell home.  Their seeds are also from friends in the U P.

Adding another day to the week.  It's one of those repeats that keep happening.  So here's to Thursday.

Most of our H H's are coming to an end with one exception just starting at the patio.                                       What color will it be. All the seeds will be saved when dried on the stock.

It was another wide awake Thursday mornings that has been a part of my life for a long time.  Half light and half dark and I chose to put my feet on the floor again.  It was morning with Meeka and more.  I put my body on the patio at some point and thought about the morning.  Yes, watering time and the hose was waiting.  The Dahlias got a good drink and then they got another one for good measure. They look wonderful.  I set the sprinkler for another near by bed and told the rest of the beds to get busy with rooting down to find their own moisture with one exception.  I felt sorry for the Canna so each group got a small bucket of water hoping to push their efforts forward. .  I think they will do that even without my encouragement.  They mostly are hot weather friends but for some reason they made me feel needed. Toughen up kiddos. I'll try to do the same.

A couple of unusual D Lilies.

I looked through instruction papers that came home from the hospital with me.  I needed simple acetaminophen so off to the drug store to move in a supply.  That should help to move toward a happy pancreas. There was time for the Star on the patio and eventually I heard a good morning from Doug.

Wild DARK ORANGE!!!!  Not the usual road side orange but really dark orange!

At some point I moved inside to the chair and fell asleep only to have Doug wake me up telling me a neighbor was in the garden. We walked the garden and had a great chat.  It wasn't long until Doug appeared again to tell me that Heidi and James were on their way after attending to a Dr. visit in Carmel.  That happened and the words continued to fly at a great pace with another wonderful visit. Once again teacher James answered medical questions. What caring friends I have with more questions answered along with a lot of funny experiences shared.

Healthy Dahlias just moving right along.

Lunch happened.  There was some soccer entertainment. The afternoon hours were quiet with fans running and more naps occurring.  I would call it a sleepy lazy afternoon perfect for the first day of July.  As a child it was one of the first months of canning food for the winter months. My, my talk about heat.  Today just didn't compare one bit.  The kitchen was busy with the canner on the stove, boiling water steaming every where with lids, and rubber rings making sure the quart jars sealed properly for saft preservation. No matter the temperature canning continued until the last quart of tomatoes was on the shelf for the winter.  How pretty the fruit cellar looked with all the filled jars of delicious fruits and vegetables ready for the winter months.

Spring transplants that are doing a great job.

Well, now you have heard a memory that was swirling around in my head.  I wish I had pictures. Maybe the heat was getting to me.  Who knows.  Ending the afternoon happened when I fell asleep again for a very long nap.  I'll blame that need because of all that happened at the beginning of the week. Maybe I don't even need a reason.

                                                                        Another sweet thing.

Super was late and there was an Aldi visit that improved the look in the refrigerator 100%.  I found those frozen lemon cups.  Yum, yum. Pictures were added to the blog and then back to the USA Soccer game where already the score was USA1 to zip.
