I would say the day was pretty good to me.  It started with one hotel room being used so there was a  trip to the park.  I had been out working in the garden thinking about some jobs needing to be done.  One being fertilizing.  I went looking for the box and discovered that it was to increase blooms which I use later in the spring.  I needed the fertilizer with the first big number helping plants to grow.  After we took our guest to the woods we went on to Rosie's.  She didn't have Miracle Grow so on to Ace Hardware we went where we found it along with Preen almost 7 dollars cheaper than Rosies.  So I think I'm pretty well set for the rest of the summer.  There is a pretty good supply of Deer off, Weed killer and Dust added to fertilizer and Preen.   Back home again I was feeling like it was time to relax.  Two hours of work were already under my belt so it was time for a change and it happened.   Cleaning ...

Tuesday.

I thought I had missed a day somewhere.  The mowers come on Wed.  This week they came on Tuesday.  I think they want a long weekend!  Last week I thought I had gained a day.  Do I need another pill to keep things straight.? I think not.  Who is keeping track of life.  Certainly not me and that's easier!                                                                     Beautiful and very old clematis. Someone somewhere has been praying for me.  I've had the best sleep these last two nights. So who ever...just keep on.   I walked the garden this morning thinking that the zinnias had grown big enough for transplanting.  So that's what I did during the morning hours.  There is one more container to go and right now the vac...

This morning was a morning when the body just didn't do what I wanted to do.  Well, that was after I did some looking around the garden.  So I just didn't do.  I think the deal was still a lot of emotions flowing in a body that was totally exhausted.                                              This morning I took a rest on the picnic table.  This was my view.  I tried to push this thing I'm living in with the job of looking for flower volunteers and moving them to a better spot.  I found about 6.  It's like playing Where's Waldo with plants.  I love it. That game worked for a little bit but not for long.  I've often wondered where Carolina Wrens nested.  Now I know.  That bird with an attitude moved into a house that had a leftover nest from last year.  With mealworms near life is go...

Sunday

Image
This by far was the most emotionally draining day that I have experienced in a long time.  And writing about it will be a hurdle to climb that should help with perspective.  Now that I have your attention here goes the day.   Of course, it started with loading plants in the car for the plant swap.  It's always a high point of the year when I can share plants from the garden and then plant gifts brought to church by other folks.  It's just a wonderful gathering in the courtyard, talking about plants of all shapes and sizes.  So, the car was packed, and we headed south.                                                Thanks to the swap, this bed eventually will have a little color. Now I must add that today was celebrated as Pentecost, my most favorite Sunday of the year.  It's red and I wore my loud s...

Saturday

I'll get this over with.  Last night the darn ticker took off again thinking it was running the marathon.  So I tried something that I was hoping would work to slow it down but I didn't do it right so of course that led to a trip to I U North.  With a simple fix, 45 minutes later the ticker was behaving again so the trip was back home again in Indiana.  I think I need one of those electrical systems that the Tesla is supposed to have.  The only think I'll add is that I'm in great hands with the I U Hospital system.  I am blessed for many reasons, one being how close to us I U decided to build the hospital.  Now wasn't that special.                                    So today was a day that started in the garden.  What a beautiful morning.                         ...

Friday

Image
For some reason that I don't understand why, today has been a Saturday all day long.  So I guess I've earned another day this week.               The first flower of Love in the mist.  Nigella.  It's such a sweet little annual seeding itself.  This morning, I thought it was time to clean up the plant pots for the Sunday church plant swap.  So I did.  Then I finished all the tags that gave a lot of information about the plant.  All done for sure but Oops.  It's Friday and not Saturday.  I'm taking 10 plants Sunday but for sure will not bring 10 back home with me. Maybe two or three if any.  I decided to check on the area that I wanted to change scraping out more for-get-me-nots.  And I did that adding to the pile that would fill the big blues.  I tied up some very old bushes that lined the now gone forget-me-not beds.  The bushes are so old that they need all the help they ...

I like days like today.  Busy with stuff meeting deadlines...sort of.   The day started with another 6 am wake up.  I ate my egg and sour cream with some onions added.  Yes...I would say weird, but it works.  Then seeing the condition of the cauliflower told me that it was time to do something with it.  So cauliflower with celery and potatoes with some chicken flavoring became the soup of the day.   Then by 8 am we were on our way to I U North to see my CPap doctor.  Doug dropped me off and went to park and read his Scientific Americas until I was finished with the doc.  I spent a little time looking for him since communication could have been a hair better.                       Then it was off to 38th Street and Meridian Street.  The home of North U M Church. We arrived at our 9:30 appointment with my church friends getting the sanctuary ready for Pen...
