Slow and Easy...NOT!

Another bit of sunshine.  Such a gift to be cared for, watered, and enjoyed.  Many more examples to be discovered soon.   This little garden of flowers got buckets full of water.  Water is the magic that fills buds.  Buds become so big with growth they must explode!

Slow and Easy?  Not! That wasn't Saturday for sure.  Guess the slow and easy Friday was getting me ready for busy bee Saturday.  First it was Bread and Bowl Saturday for ME!  I arrived at church at 8:40 to be greeted by two workers ready for job assignments.  So the work began.  The morning moved right along.  Part of that time was spent again talking about new procedures starting in July.  We purged all the things in the cupboards that had accumulated but not needed making space for what we would need in July and noting what needed to be ordered. The cupboards have been restocked.  Yeah!   I feel a bit more comfortable now about the coming month of new beginnings with people now having an option to eat their meal at church if they wish. Carry-out is still available.   At eleven we opened for business at the west entrance to the church with 48 take-home meals.  People walked in and it was another good time of visiting with neighborhood folks.
Each bag contains big servings of pork and beans, and mixed vegetables. toasted bread and a desert.                                 Loaves of bread and water are available. Today there were oranges.

So back home and lunch for me.  I watered everything even though rain was forecasted.  It didn't come.  Almost reached us but dried up.  What a bummer.

A few years ago some of you might remember that Noah came to visit one day a week.  His favorite thing to do was dig and he did to the point that we reduced the size of his hole, turning it into a little pond.  This year I filled the pond with water and that's where it all stopped.  The water was dirty with maple seeds and just plain spring mucky water.  So I emptied the pond.  That was not so easy dipping water but I got 'er done.  I filled it again with clean water and we added some plants.  When the water is a bit more settled in a few days we'll add some fish.  The pond looks a little friendlier now.

One more water plant needs to be added. There will be pond flowers soon.

Another trip to Wild Birds.  The suet was getting low and we bought a new feeder for birds that have the ability to hang on to a feeder.  Black Birds are not included.

For clinger's only.  Chickadee, Nuthatch, Titmouse, small Woodpeckers, and Gold Finch.                                                                            I'll let you know if it works.

So I would say the day was a go-do day.  We needed to go somewhere to do all the doing.  The trap was silent.  One visiter is still playing in the yard. Doug would like to go and do with a chipmunk in mind.

Late news flash...Doug got to visit the woods.
