Saturday
The morning started with this beautiful beginning.
and Tim Horton. It's a 20 year tradition at the Michigan Russell's house.
Jared reminded me that when grocery shopping with two little Russell boys, chocolate-covered doughnut were a part of their growing-up years. I forgot all about that!
We had a great morning of entertainment with the first soccer game of the fall for Eli. A heck of a lot of good soccer playing resulted in a 2 and 2-tie game. Eli although one of the younger kids is one of the taller kids on the team easy to spot doing a whole lot of right plays.
After lunch we played a board game, Ticket to Ride. I've heard a lot of talk about this game of strategy and loving every minute after absorbing ALL the rules. It's a fun game.
Adam continues to be aware of concussion symptoms. I'm sure healing will take longer than he would wish. If a soccer player can't run he's not in the game. Much to Adam's dismay, he's LEFT OUT!
Dizziness, headaches, and some difficulty thinking are sticking around although he's good at covering up. Way too good. He loves his gaming computer even with a headache.
On a bus trip to Mt. Pleasant's Central Michigan University at 6:45, Jacob and a few other high school folks spent the morning with the university band in preparation for participating in the afternoon football halftime show. What a great experience for a grandson getting ready for his own university experience, the place yet to be chosen next year.
Sunday we're heading back to Carmel. Sooooo many good memories have filled us to the max.
Gardening, animals, three grandsons, and their parents. funny conversations, learning new stuff on my iPhone, You name it I've learned it...Maybe learned with the hope of not forgetting it. It will be church time in the morning, Pizza for lunch, and then hit the road Jack! Thank you, thank you Michigan Russells. The goal of seeing the grandsons in action is satisfied. It's been a great 6 days. My hope is that we don't smell like rotten fish!
Happy you had such a nice visit and so many fun things to do. We missed seeing you here when Adam's game got cancelled, then missed seeing you in Indiana when we were there for the Veteran's Event. Just got home tonight! Love your pictures!
