Saturday

Another great day with interesting things to do.  My day started once again with pie on my mind.  The eight pie means that my baking days are over this year in Georgia. This time four have landed in the freezer and not in the oven.  They will stay here and be baked at some later date for the monks.  Perhaps Christmas.  A good clean up happened and breakfast with whoever got up.

The grandsons were the last up of course missing out breakfast.  Adam continues to have difficulty involving his concussion waiting for his first available doctor's appointment in mid-December with the Neurologist.  We have concerns.  Dizziness and inability to sleep are some.

A beautiful peaceful sunny morning looking across one of three lakes dug by the monks on their arrival to their new home dug for fire protection many years ago. Deer and geese were our entertainment.

Mid-morning we all walked to the Monastery to meet with Father Peter Damian who now is learning and doing much with sewing.  He has a beautiful sewing room with a little clothing emporium for the brothers.

Lunch was one of those everyone-for-themselves events.  Easy Peasy.  The refrigerator still had a great selection to choose from.  Supper followed in the same manner.

The afternoon was a slow one making preparations for leaving tomorrow.  Sheets were selected for bed changing in the morning.  Floors were swept, kitchen items were back in their rightful place and the floor got a sweeping.

Monks visited the house late afternoon and evening enjoying a piece of tasty Granny Smith Pie.

One piece left in the 4th pie pan.  Woo...that's the way it should be.  Enough for all.

I attended the 5:20 service where the first candle of Advent was lit.

Tomorrow, Sunday we will be heading North and after a long drive and the traffic being not too heavy, we should be pulling into the driveway late in the evening, so much the better having been with family once again.

Rick left mid-morning, traveling to Nashville to visit with his son and family during the weekend.  He will start his trip home to Dallas Monday morning.

Once again the feeling of family prevailed.  It was another blessed vacation.  A great reunion for the Russell brothers.  And we all ready to do it again.
