Friday. with some exciting news.
It was one of those early starts although the start didn't really start till 5 am. I got Eric to the bus for his trip to downtown Indy. Crossword and wordle were completed There was a little TV watching. I decided to make two bibs, one with one layer of fabric and one with two layers of fabric on the inside. Which one would be the best with this new fabric. After they were made I threw them in the washing machine to see how they would survive.
Drum roll. The survival rate was noted at 110 percent. Which one was the best? That was determined later in the day.
After lunch, I told Doug I needed to do grocery shopping but there was more than that. First, it was a drugstore stop to pick up some medicine and get another prescription filled. Then a phone call to my friend Kathy O. I heard this message...COME ON OVER! We had a wonderful visit, both of us talking as fast as we could. Remember the bibs? I gave her many, many bibs to use when she took care of her grandsons during their before-grade school days. My question to her was, which one on the new bibs would work the best. I got my answer. We'll go with a one-layer insert.
Then it finally was grocery shopping time at Aldi's, this time on the north side of Carmel. I arrived home about 2 1/2 hours later. There wasn't a whole lot left of the day.
Time for supper with a summer-style salad. We'll pretend although the weather has been very mild these days. I think we need a few more very cold days to kill bugs. We need some bugs but we could use a freeze or two before warm weather sets in. I feel sure that we'll get some of those days.
Supper Time and the living is easy. Now for the exciting news. Today son Jared and grandson Jacob traveled to Michigan State University at Lancing. MSU is one of three places where Jacob has been accepted to study for his next 4 years of college. Today he auditioned for 2 professors and their assistants with the expectation of being accepted into the school of music at the university. His assessment of today's event was that it went very well. He was pleased. Now we wait!. MSU and Spartan living is his first choice. My grandsons are growing up. It's bound to happen.
Prayers for Doug's brother Rick who had a very unfortunate accident Wed. He is hospitalized and now recovering from hip replacement surgery. There are a few lesser injuries as well.
