Another week has begun. Sunday doesn't count. It's just a day. Monday is the beginning of the week. And it started with solving Wordle and an easy crossword finished!
Then it was a short walk to the sewing room. You guessed it...more bibs. Today was pretty productive. I took a break with a trip to JoAnn's again. This time I really, really needed a new cutting wheel. The one I was using was long ago worn out and driving me nuts. This time the wheel is supposed to last twice as long as what I had been buying. We'll see. I can say it really cuts making me even a little nervous. I found some fabric on the cheap shelf and also a striped companion fabric to what I had purchased a couple of weeks ago from the cheap shelf. When I got back home Doug thought the bag was a little big for only needles. What a jokester!
There will be more burp clothes when the flannel is used.
I seemed to have solved some problems with the sewing machine. The tension wasn't happy and when I layered the fabric differently the problem was solved. Woo...That was a huge surprise. I've never fixed anything on my machine so easily.
Today was a 7 bib day. Five of them are pretty much alike using the same fabric combinations.
I have made bibs with strip quilting for years and years. I wish I knew how many. It's such an easy way to use small pieces of fabric never two bibs looking the same. I was looking through my plastic bins for backing fabric and another Low and Behold...About a year ago Patty cleaned out a bunch of fabric and of course, it came my way. The perfect blue for the back of the bib was right there. And there is a lot of fabric. One good thing about forgetting stuff. There is always a wonderful surprise feeling when I find it again.
It was another beautiful weather day. I was coatless at the fabric store. It felt so good not to be bundled up. Another walk in the garden with just the crocus blooming. The birds were back. I really can depend on them when the sun is shining.
So...that's sort of it for the day. The shop is closed and it's time for TV and wrapping up in the electric throw. More sewing tomorrow. Yahoo! But first there will be cutting fabric for the inside of the bibs. Cutting fabric for the backs of the bibs. Figuring out what colors are needed. Got to do the prep work. That's my kind of day.
Rick continues to be alive!!!! He's heading to a new hospital room in the rehab area. With a new hip and three broken ribs, and a hand injury rehab will be pretty painful. He hopes to get stitches out of his nose that was broken tomorrow.
