Saturday.

A good morning start with another two bibs birthed.  But then it was downhill for a bit.  Ran out of white thread again and broke another needle.  I needed tougher needles.  I needed bigger spools of thread although I had already bought two of the biggest at JoAnn's. It was an interesting morning.  I just had to laugh at all the things that were going wrong, running out of white thread, breaking needles, crooked sewing that needed ripping out, and dropping buttons, and fabric on the floor.  I remembered that nothing last forever! That includes thread and needles and bad luck.

My morning loss needed an afternoon resupply.  I bought tougher needles. (I hope)                                                             The biggest spools hold 1000 yards of thread.

I was off to Bread and Bowl at 8:30, the church meal program for the community folks.  We had Rita, Sylvia, Heidi, James, Jack and me.  A great crew of workers who know all the ropes leading to the 11:00 deadline.  In fact, we were ready for the most part by 10:30 with the men carrying on the last-minute stuff and the ladies sitting and having a wonderful visit with each other.  We had a very appreciative crowd of folks with 36 carry-out lunches all taken and the two pans of hot food eaten in the community room almost gone.

Sylvia and James are ready to share a take-home meal.

On the way home I needed to get sewing machine needles and thread.  I stopped at Select Sewing but they were closed.  Eeks!  Next stop JoAnn's.  They were having a great fabric sale. I DIDN'T buy anything.  ONLY sewing machine needles and white thread went home with me.

                                                                        Perfect Red!!!

The rest of the afternoon which was really short was spent with another bib theme of chickens.  My kind of animal.   I wanted red for the backing and LOW and BEHOLD, I found the perfect piece of red fabric in the stash.  See, I don't even know what I have.  It really gives me a warm giggle when I find what I need or want right in my sewing room.

A Doug's brother Rick report.  Sharing tonight that Rick fell in the parking lot of the retirement home breaking his hip which had been compromised by a fall at a hockey game earlier in the evening.  He was not found until morning.  His hip has been replaced but his body is having difficulty moving into the healing process. Dallas winters are not warm, especially at night. His core temperature was compromised.   Pray for those who have the responsibility of providing healing care. Pray for a responding body.
