Tues...Valentine's Day.
Today was a pretty easy simple day. Fifty Years AGO...it wasn't. Jared became a Valentine's baby on the 14th. It wasn't planned like that but it happened. He was just a little bit late. NO a whole lot late. Jared became the second Russell kid with a 14th birthday. The first is his Uncle Rick. And you know...they are two peas in a pod. Did the 14th do that? They drink the same water or something like that. So Happy Birthday on Valentine's Day to both Jared and Rick.
Jared's birthday cake was made in cake pans that Doug's mother gave me. She made Rick's birthday cake in the same pans. Great job Kimmy. What? No candles! And speaking of Rick. Good things are happening like his breakfast order this morning included everything on the menu. Today his legs worked. Yesterday they didn't. The nurses sang the birthday song to him first thing this morning. He loved it. So I think his brain is in the process of doing a reconnect with his body. Therapy will continue that process. I know...I've been there as well. The head must be connected to the feet. His son Jason left for his Nashville home this morning and will return in a week or so to see what progress is happening. . Rick's friend Judy will keep us connected in the meantime.
Strips for sewing.I started this post with simple day. The morning included a lot of fabric cutting getting ready for more bibs. All that work should make the process go a little faster with not so many stops and starts. I'm really not in a hurry but I like to know there is some organizing done when I work.. That's what the morning brought. ORGANIZATION!!!
This is what goes inside. A white and a gray-blue oval.. The dark blue etc. is what is on the outside back.
It's been a four bib day and that's a good thing. This morning I saw one of the most glorious sunrises. It was so intense with color that had many subtle changes. I thought about...The heavens are telling the glory of God. Morning has broken like the first
morning, I owe the Lord a morning song of gratitude and praise. It's such a gift to have these words and music in my head. It certainly was a show-stopper.
