 Another great start to the day with super results with all the brain stuff.  Well, it's brain stuff for my brain.  Maybe not for others but for me...YES!  I piddled around until mid-morning when it was off to the dentist in Zionsville for the last part of getting a crown.  I am so glad that's over and the prediction is that all the teeth now in my mouth are in good shape.  I hope to keep it that way.  Paying the dentist's bill and Christmas don't go together easily.

 I had a few extra minutes before the appointment so I stopped at Goodwill looking for any flannel sheets.  Bum luck on the visit. Nothing close to a flannel sheet.  So I motored on and occupied the dental chair for about 30 minutes.  I still have dental procedure questions even after 2 years with a new doctor.  My visit this morning included a whole lot of questions with hearing a whole lot of answers not from the dentist but her assistant who does more in my mouth than the dentist!  80 years of visiting dentists has brought a whole lot of what's happening now questions when one compares dentistry over the years.  Uck...so many changes. The new tooth got glued in and I was on my way again.  


I planted more this fall.  So pretty. I can never get enough. 

And I stopped at another Goodwill still looking for flannel sheets.  I hit the jackpot at the next one.  I could have bought at least eight but I settled on three. They are washed and ready to be made into burp cloths again in the new year.

After Goodwill shopping, I walked next door to Lowes looking for a bigger white poinsettia than I purchased yesterday.  No luck there so currently the two purchased yesterday are a bit different in size.  It could be that no one will notice but me.  But I struck out today.

I walked the garden again, this time with a clippers.  And I did some clipping.  Such a beautiful day with such good clear crisp air.  

                                                                            Memories

Doug did a medicine run and we're both good to go for a while.  The supper was split pea soup.  It's one of my favorite soups although it's really high in carbs.  Can't have it very often.  I folded the flannel sheets and watched a bit of TV.   I would say it was another good day.  

Tomorrow I'd like to stop at the Y and ask about a Silver Sneakers membership again.  I love riding the bike.  The last visit was before Covid and I think it's time again to get back on the "horse".   Doug is showing some interest! 

Eric sent me a text saying that the Zoo was working on a new Chimp exhibit that will open next year.  He sent me pictures and names of the Chimps.  

                                    I wonder if there is a free pass waiting at the gate for me?                                                                                                     I've always loved bananas.

Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 This morning...nothing different.  Cards and Pancakes with no rain and none promised.  That could change but so what.  A little rain never has stopped us from doing.   The first big bottle of syrup and the first bag of pancake mix is gone but there is more stashed away.  We never run out of breakfast fixings.  The second book is well on the way. I think it's the same for Doug.  I spent the afternoon with Natasha sitting on the deck and visiting with her mother Dorthy.  She is a great storyteller.  Natasha's dad is our potter friend Dennis.  Natasha is also a potter among many other things.  This is a picture of the shop.  A large deck behind the deck is a sweet place to visit and make new friends.   Today our church friends Jeanie and Neal arrived.  They will be here for 3 nights.  We'll do a little visiting later around the Jared Russell campfire giving them some ideas of what they might like to ...

 It's 7 PM and 66 degrees maybe with a breeze off the lake.  Changed to long pants and a better jacket.  It's cloudy right now with a chance of rain tonight.  Most rains are not predicted so it's maybe yes and maybe no.  So what was today like.  Check what was posted for yesterday with  kayaking deleted. Read, slept, walked and played cards once again.  We had icecream at the Fort Store.  That was a first.   We played a couple of games of Kubb.  It's a great yard game that one can become proficient in quickly.  The WiFi is really slow for picture up loads so one will need to do.   Tonight the JB family will begin packing for home.  The camp kitchen will come down and tomorrow morning the tent will be next.  The hope is that they will leave the campground no later than 10 after their last pancake breakfast at our dining fly.  It's always a sad time but the plan is to do this all over again next year...
