Saturday

Up as usual at 6 with breakfast and then an early run to Bread and Bowl.  The second and fourth Saturdays are the two weekends that North's Saturday crew fills the kitchen with good smells.  Today Second Helpings sent us mashed potatoes, pork barbeque, and green beans.  It certainly smelled yummy and the report from the guests said it was delicious.  We served about 45 people and sent home about the same amount of carry-out lunches.  The food was gone by 11:30.  The neighborhood folks know that early arrival usually assures them of a dinner.  We turned no one away. There were five of us working and sharing the load made it all possible.

Memories of a few years ago.  I sure to miss these beautiful gifts.

Heidi and I made a tour of the sanctuary and Gathering Center making sure the Poinsettias were as good as they could be for tomorrow.  We have felt like church sitters this month making sure that all is well, all is well.

                                                    So happy to have pictures.

Back home on the ranch for lunch and then it was more work with the fifty burps.  They are all marked, and ready for the sewing machine at some point next week or the next or the next.  There is no hurry so when the time is available I'll be sewing.  I'm beginning to be aware that there probably be other stuff happening this coming week.

That's the line the sewing machine follows at the end of each of the burps.  Can't do it without the line.

I watched a bit of the Butler game with Butler losing in overtime.  Such a bummer but the extra bit of energy just wasn't in great supply.

I made the trip to the Y with another 45 minutes of doing stuff.  It was empty of folks.  I imagine that will continue until sometime Monday afternoon. This afternoon it was Strauss in my ear and British Columbia on the screen. Doug took the afternoon off.  He said he had sore muscles.  Well, if one doesn't start easy there are sure to be sore muscles.  Dah!  There, I've said it.

The screen picture. There's even a fan to cool one off while walking.

                                                                            Beautiful.
