Saturday
I'll get this over with. Last night the darn ticker took off again thinking it was running the marathon. So I tried something that I was hoping would work to slow it down but I didn't do it right so of course that led to a trip to I U North. With a simple fix, 45 minutes later the ticker was behaving again so the trip was back home again in Indiana. I think I need one of those electrical systems that the Tesla is supposed to have. The only think I'll add is that I'm in great hands with the I U Hospital system. I am blessed for many reasons, one being how close to us I U decided to build the hospital. Now wasn't that special.
So today was a day that started in the garden. What a beautiful morning. Maybe the best part of the picture is that the False Indigo are the correct color.
This was my job for the morning. Dead heading.
I brought my helpers with me and they did a super job.
Stella gave my back a rest. Sitting is so much better than leaning over and reaching. I learned this trick last year. This was the final results of a whole lot of snipping to make this bed once again look as good as it could for the rest of the summer. Perhaps I should add spring.
The iris now have been dead headed for another year.Almost finished and Jared and Kimmy called with face time. That took about an hour to talk through everything. I saw their garden and they saw my garden. Well, some of it I will admit. By then it was noon and we were on the way to Aldi's and Kroger for a few things.
Back home again and an SOS text arrived, and we were on the way with ER Plant rescue items to R and B's house. We had a great visit and made some discoveries, dusted, solved some issues and talked.
The rest of the afternoon was spent with a new area in the back yard digging and looking for transplants that the deer would have little interest in. It could be a lunchroom deer's best find if not thought out correctly. So with some good thinking the deer should say she wasn't thinking of me when she was planting. At least that's the hope.
I included two Hosta's that have very thick leaves in this area. Deer usually ignore them. We'll see. My hope is that a lot of Preen will discourage all the for-get-me-nots seeds in the ground.
I grateful for the true indigo.
