Thursday

I started the morning after breakfast with my little rake cleaning out some stuff.  And my neighbors from the other end of the addition were walking and stopped to talk.  They both are gardeners and moved here last fall.  We talked and looked for more than an hour about everything until it was time to leave for the doctors at 10:45. There were tons of words that included everything one needs to know about chipmunks. Doug took one of those and a baby squirrel to the park before we left for the doctors.

Another first for the spring of 2024.  Perennial Sweet Peas.

And there was a lot of doctor talk as well.  That visit included a left hip Xray hoping to figure out why it has been hurting for so long.  It's probably abuse but we'll know soon.  It could mean more selective PT with I U people who don't joke around strengthening the muscles around the hip bone.

After the I U North visit we went to church to pick up plastic bags to prepare for Saturday's Bread and Bowl carry out lunches.  It's so good to get that done ahead of time.  One less thing to do on Saturday. 60 bags are ready to be packed with food.

The first Stella Dora day lily. There are many more to come.  Early spring and lots of water will do that.

I took a short walk to the neighbors to check out their little SCAMP trailer for camping.  It's cute and perfect for the three of them.  Doug's uncle had a scamp for years.  Then there was a long talk with Barb and Judy as they stopped in the middle of the street in their car.  We talked until the next car needed to pass by which was a long time coming.

Valerian.  The roots are used in medication for sleeping.  I think I'll let someone else experiment with it.                                                  The flowers have a powerful wonderful smell.

Then home for another salad supper on the patio and another very long rest watching the birds after eating.  So another good day with a little flower watering and one last hole waiting for the last three zinnias.  These three will need to learn to live together.  I'm all holed out.
