Monday

The day started with a walk through the garden once again feeling blessed with all that I have.  It's an interesting place that keeps me grounded.  Today I did a lot of looking although I did carry the clippers with me.  It was a pretty quiet working morning in the garden.

I found this blooming this morning.  It's always a great find when two flowers of different colors across the color wheel are blooming at the same time.  It's black-eyed Susans and Obedient Plant.

Then I decided that it was time to do something so the flannel came out and I did a whole lot of ripping and pressing of fabric.  Another sheet or two and I'll be sewing the next hundred real soon.  All this before stuff really is part of the whole process. That took a couple of hours.

The sewing room got messy today.  It's all straightened up this evening.

A long time ago for Christmas gifts I made the grandsons pickle pillows.

That subject came up in some conversations not very long ago.  To my surprise the kids still had them.  And two of the girlfriends wanted their own pickle pillow.  I was happy to oblige them given the chance to make girl pickle pillows.  I've had the order for about a month or two.  I purchased green fleece so there really was no reason not to get on with it.  So, today after the flannel was put away, I started the first pickle. I finished one today.

Girl friend one wanted me to mail it, but my hope is that in the not-too-distant future we'll spin our way to the JB Russell household. So' getting that all together took a chunk of the afternoon.

For sure the last day lily.  It's a late bloomer for sure. I'm still happy to have it.

I decided to throw together some beef pot pies this afternoon.  Help!  I got 5 finished with the hope that no onions would not be a pie breaker.  I've made chicken but this is a first for beef.  We'll see how this goes.  I'm putting away some meals that might come in handy if the days get to "rainy" with a body that needs a little help.

Yikes.  Some things always appear sooner than expected.

Supper was super leftovers from a meal Patty brought Friday.  Dairy Queen wasn't necessary tonight.  Patty filled the bill.  Harvard beets need to wait for another day.

I never get tired of visiting with my friends.

  2. Love the yellow and purple flowers - maybe more flowers (especially the invasive ones) need lessons from the Obedient onel The pickle pillows are great - but why? Do your sons like pickles? (and, if they do, who prefers bread 'n' butter pickles and who prefers kosher dill?) Was it a craze at a time when after my time of crazes?
