Friday

This week of five days is almost gone again.  That seems to happen every week.  Did you notice?  Just testing your cognitive thinking skills.  Let me know if I am giving the wrong test.

I spent the morning again at the machine.  It seems to be working at its peak performance in my mind but I'm sure the January fix up will make a change.  There are 10 more burps to add to the 70. It won't be long before there is another hundred.

Crazy pattern, but I made it work.

The last stop at the library included a look at some sewing books. There sure are some cute hats for 2 year olds.  Something to think about doing with all the fleece hanging in Goodwill.  Oh, dear.  Is something new about to happen? Not so sure. There could be a surprise waiting for me.

Somewhere and some time ago I found 2 good star cutters for cookies.  I used them for ornament. Not today.  I decided if they ever were going to make star cookies it would be today.  So, I got the cookbook out.  Read the recipe for Sugar Dough Cookies more than once assembling everything needed and mixed the dough.  These were roll out cookies which I think is a little different. It's much easier to drop them! The dough didn't look right.  Oops...I forgot to add the two cups of sugar.  So, I guess I made dough cookies. Should I start over or try to fix the goof.  I did the latter.  Right now, the dough is in the refrigerator cooling down.  We'll see how this goes. It looks fine.

I plan to take these to church Sunday for friendship time in the Gathering Place.  I think it's a perfect snack for the nativity visitors even though we are a little early in the season. It's after Halloween so does that count?
They look great but could use more taste according to me.

Today the birds have returned to the feeder.  It is a little warmer and I'm guessing they don't need the barn today. Maybe the robin evicted them.

His head is buried in the suite. I think there is a better picture today.

My carpal tunnel in one hand has returned with a vengeance at night.  At one time years ago, I wore 2 splints at night to keep my hands in the right position.  Last night's sleep with a brace told me that my hand stayed where it should be with no uncomforting pain.  Thank God for solutions.

The pot on the patio seemed to have no difficulty living through the snow.  That was a huge surprise this morning.  I wish I could save it all till spring. Yes, the rooster insisted on being outside.

Last but certainly not least, Kathy sent me a picture of Katie Meridith's Christmas Cactus that came her way after Katies' death. Stunning is a word I would use.

                                                                            What eye candy.

Now this is what has been gifted my way!  Stunning?  Don't think so.
I can grow mushrooms. Well, that is with Kimmy's help.                                                                                              I think it's going to outwait me.
