Monday
Today started pretty simply with the usual stuff and sort of stayed simple all day. The weather was cold! Seeds continue to turn to plants but the little seed houses came inside. I checked on the sweet peas and more are showing their true self although not much will happen with all this cold that will stay for a few days. I felt sorry for the nuthatch and tufted titmouse birds so I refilled feeders. The starlings quickly found yummy things to eat.
It was an in house for the day, day until it became more apparent that Aldi's needed a visit. That happened and I would say Monday is a great grocery day with the store mostly empty. The girls were busy restocking and we found everything we needed.
The other event keeping me busy was Christine's sewing project. I cut a lot of 5 inch squares adding a little fabric to what Christine brought. The whole quilt is coming together but I think will take two more days to complete. I found time to finish the other 13 burps that I had started making a total of 25 ready for babies.
I'll finish the quilt with knotting the fabric together at all the corners of each blook. There will be a dark blue almost purple boarder and backing. I think it's a great selection of color.
The secret to sewing a nice quilt is accuracy in cutting and sewing. It's got to be right to end correctly. I stitched the little girl's name to six blocks which I hope will show her ownership to anyone who sees the quilt.
These are some of the leftovers that will be used to make a bag to carry the quilt. That was about it for the day. My hands feel a bit arthritic, so they get to rest tonight. Then tomorrow I'll back at it again.
beautiful quilt - but I couldn't see the name. How clever to make a bag to carry the quilt.
