Sunday

You have heard of the three little pigs, the three bears, and the three Billy goats gruff.  Well, today you now have heard of the three chipmunks, singing their chipmunk song with a verse saying get me to the park woods on time. It was a big three day starting in the morning with a busy afternoon added.  But in between there were other things happening.

Sum and Substance, a Hosta I divided three times.  It's beautiful this time of year.                                                         And oh, so big.  One of the larger Hostas.
Years ago, I told Doug if it were hailing, I expected him to protect S and S with a umbrella during the storm.  He hasn't had a chance to make that asking, come true. I wonder as I wonder!

Of course, it was church day with the noisy 500 down the road to the west.  That part of town has church Sat. if at all on this weekend.  There is no way to have church Sunday in the Speedway area with the roads full of cars, trucks and a few drunk folks who never see the race, filling the streets all morning.  You can tell it's a party day in Carmel with cars sitting in yards, people out of sight with car pooling evidence everywhere. The roads are clear for most of the day with people leaving home early and returning home late spending the whole day at the track regardless of the racing event..

We had good church with music that carried my soul to heaven.  It was good to see some kids now grown folks who were here for a weekend visit with their parents and sitting together.

There was a lot of conversation about what will happen Tues while we put Easter back in the box visually.  For many years we took apart everything we made for the season and this worker group wants to save what we made to reuse again.  I can do that, but I would encourage them to add something to make a new fresh approach to the next season.  My wills are bending and I won't be harmed at all.  Doris is still with me but TIMES, they are a changing.

Fresh milkweed for the Monarch caterpillar, slowly growing toward a butterfly.

I added a good nap in the afternoon and then it was off to take number two Chippy to the woods.  Number one went before church.  I did an Aldi visit, this time by myself on the way home and wouldn't you know but number three was waiting for a ride.  Oops.  My numbering is off.  By the time Doug got back home with the number three trip, number four was waiting for the same ride.  So, all the stories that had three, could there be stories with the number four.  The total score is 8 chipmunks and 4 squirrels.  Sort of a runaway score like the Thunder and Wolves last night.

The fairy world has had a few things added for my fairy to enjoy.  She might be an angel come to think of it. She broke a wing and is waiting for a prothesis.  The real fairy is lost.  I think the chipmunks carried her off needing a mother.  That's an Oliver thing I think!

Groceries are put away for the week.  I love shopping at Aldi's when there are such interesting families with little children.  Sometimes I feel like a Grandma to all of them.  Today was the best with a fisty little probably not yet 3-year-old who was besting at times both her parents.  So cute, and so glad that she belonged to them and not me. When the yogurt came out of the case, she screamed yogurt to all the shoppers.  Attitude was evident (terrible twos maybe ?) and will do her good at some point in her life.  She certainly will develop their parenting skills past her teenage years. May peace be with them through their parenting years.

I like this combination of stuff!

Groceries away and Doug's at the park with the trap.  The blog is finished and it's time to work on pictures.  Then it's popcorn time with the Pacers.  Woo.  A good way to finish the day...I hope.

PS.  At 6:30 long after that last paragraph, Doug took number 5 for the day to the park. The day isn't over yet.

Three were caught in this trip.  Two in the other and once again the place was full of deer tracks.                                                                           The score is nine chips to four squir!

And something to remember as if THEY, the Pacers forgot...  Let's get this job done so there is rest time before the finals.  That is always is a factor.  There is a feeling in the air that the Knicks are out to get us.  I would say that's true for sure!

  1. I hope you don't take Alvin to the park! He could be great singing "Get me to the park on time" to the tune from My Fair Lady when Eliza's father wants to get to church on time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hj7O7EwCqec

  2. Spilling pitchers of cold water on oneself is NOT cool. Did you have dry clothes to change into afterwards? Thank heavens the hot coffee didn't make it to you! True disaster.
By the way, there is a ministry location inside one of the buildings at the track complete with a preacher all day on Sundays. This ministry follows the racing circuit and is on site at all Indy car races throughtout the year.
