Wednesday
Yes. One of these days I will not be thinking about the hot weather. Which one it will be is anyone's guess. There could be a bit of rain this afternoon and then there might not be a drop.
There was another good night of sleep. I am grateful. All the stuff that morning brings happened. I spent time in the garden stopping at 10:15 today. That happened after I thought I had sweated enough water for a kiddy pool. That's one way to clean out one's pours. I don't recommend that for any of you. It was a morning of clean up pulling the garden cart along behind. There wasn't much to collect, thinking what looked like many eaten off tops during the last few days In reality I was a bit surprised that there weren't as many as I thought in the cart.
Another new very soft Lavendar Day Lilie on the morning walkWhile walking the garden, I always think about planting a few zinnia seedlings in the evening in a few places but when evening comes, I grow big welts from bites while outside that I don't even know I am getting at the time. I just end up itching. I really think the reality of moving zinnia plants or any plants when there is extreme heat either morning or evening, the outcome might not be so good. So, waiting for cooler times is the plan right now. Bugs, heat and a move aren't a great combination of events for anyone.
The rest of the day was just a repeat of yesterday. TV, iPhone, water, sleep and quiet time. The garden can wait. But if the rain doesn't come today starting this morning with a 15% possibility moving this afternoon to 50% chance, I may do a bit of watering tonight. It will be the sprinkling kind of watering. That's not the best but it will do for now.
The first snapdragon to bloom. There will be many more blooming until frost time and beyond.A little excitement this afternoon. Doug saw a raccoon run into the garage through the side door. I tried to find it but couldn't. So, maybe it ran out when the garage door went up. I made it a point to get the raccoon trap from Barb. Now the question is...do we want to mess with a mad raccoon in a trap. Well, we'll see. Of the three houses closest to us there is no male present. So we could get help if we're successful in trapping from our lone other male besides Doug. Raccoons are heavy, mean and sometimes sick. Yes, we'll see. Doug has peanut butter for bait.
Second excitement for the day was a nice two-part rainstorm. Woo. That came with a cool off. We'll take it no matter how long it will last. There was a sigh of relief coming from the garden.
Doug did the pick-up for Eric. I had a 7 pm appointment with Marcia L. tackling a sewing project. It's sort of a one-of-a-kind thing with no pattern. I just need to figure it out. A pillow with a hole in the middle for an ear problem needs a cover. Humm. Another interesting life problem. I have a solution...I hope.
So another hot day is over. Supposedly we're finished with the heat this round on Friday. I'm hoping sooner of course.
