Saturday

This entry might be a little short on information because there is not much of it.  So, here's the deal.

Last night's sleep was a good one with a wake up around 7:30. Yikes.  I needed to be on the road to church a little after 8 for Soup Kitchen Day. So, breakfast was quick, and the coffee went with me in the car a little after 8.  Church arrival was 8:30 and I found the Community Rm bursting with bakery bread and a lot of desert pastries.  More than usual.  I did find the desert freezer entirely empty so the deserts were like manna from heaven or so the guests would think.

I got all the early stuff finished but learned that two of our good workers would not be coming. That was NOT good news.  So, Heidi, James and I had a lot to do.  So, the morning was a tough one with no break as we usually have.  It was just a very long morning, barely meeting the 11:00 opening with more work which continued on till 12.  With a short break a meeting was called at 12:30 for all the workers involved in the program which lasted till almost 2.

The car brought me home to the chair.  That lasted till 6 with the goal of recapturing a little energy.  It might be time to rethink the B and B commitment.  I love working with our church folks on this project.  But at times it's just a real challenge in so many ways.  I'll be thinking!

The plan for the rest of the day is more sitting.  Sewing can wait, the garden can wait, and it sounds like I'll be doing the same.  With all the other body stuff happening, I probably should expect a "tough" day.

The highlight of the day was getting some soccer pictures from the Michigan family.  Eli and Adam are on different teams and today's games were against each other.  It would have been fun to see this.  Adam is still having knee issues but is playing defense as he usually does in the fall season which is not part of the high school program.  This program is similar to the Carmel Dad's Club Program.

Adam is on the left. Eli is on the right going after the ball.  Adam won the race.                                      Of course, the oldest and biggest I might add. I asked Kimmy who she was voting for.                                   She wanted a tie game. They both scored more than one goal.  Adam's team won.                             A body like Adam's coming at you might make you think twice.  Eli doesn't scare easily!

So, what is on tap for tonight.  Nothing much but the chair.  That's it from Hillsdale Dr. for today.

  1. What a picture! ! ! Thanks for sharing this. A soccer game with two grand-nephews is definitely an acceptable replacement for a picture of drying zinnias!
