Saturday

Another good day of doing things but that sure took a lot of energy. I call that a good day.

The morning started, yes, with a little knitting.  At 8 I was off to church arriving at 8:20 with Christmas roping and a will to get Bread and Bowl on the way.  And I did both.  I dumped the roping in the west entrance and then off to the Community Room with 30 minutes of work time before Sarah Ellen arrived.  That early prep time means that when Sarah Ellen arrives, we are ready to start filling take home containers. It's a two person job and we've worked together for years so the job gets completed asap.

Then it was on to other things that need to be completed like washing tables and more.  By 9 more folks arrived to do more preparation.  Today the crowd was a little smaller.  We had just a little food left meaning all who came had all the food they needed.  That was a good feeling.  After all was cleaned up, Heidi and I moved into the sanctuary area finishing up what need to be finished visually for tomorrow's service.

We did all the last-minute things necessary to make the process of nativity setting go smoothly at the end of the service tomorrow.  Carts holding drawers of wrapped nativity sets are pushed down the outside isles and placed on the window sills of the sanctuary.  More boxes and drawers of nativities are at other places with folks assigned as leaders of parishoners who can help place the nativities. Monday we will be back at church to finish everything that needs finishing.  Fingers crossed we remembered everything.

By one o'clock I was on the way home stopping to deliver a scarf to Angie, promised some time ago.

Then home, lunch and a welcoming chair was waiting for me.  I didn't want to disappoint so the football games came on and for sure once again the knitting needles were busy again finishing the white scarf near supper time.  The games today were winning Ohio and Rutgers.  Then winning Michigan and Maryland and winning Ducks (oregon) and USC.  That as I remember.  All are B Ten schools. That was all before supper.  The big ten, no longer ten is coming along nearing the end of the season but not quite there yet.  I U plays Purdue on Friday so this weekend there was no game played. Ohio plays Michigan next weekend.  Then I think it's Indiana and Ohio State.  Yikes.

All of those long games were necessary in the recuperation from a long morning of work. I needed all the help I could get. With an evening Wisconsin/Illinois game I would say I was gamed out.  I needed a bit of quiet after listening to all the details screamed by the guys describing the games.  I would say there were exhausting moments.
