Sunday

Woo, what a day.  Details are coming.

Up earlier than usual.  I must have had something on my mind.  Showered and breakfast and then some TV and knitting again with some new yarn.  I sort of like it.  We left for church a little earlier than usual.  There were things to do and miles to go before... I talked with folks.  Decided to push the carts into the sanctuary side aisles with 5 boxes of nativities on each cart.  The instrumentalist agreed to clean up their spot in the sanctuary. The advent candles were moved in. The balcony folks were given another job to do in the balcony. The time after church got a little easier with designated jobs given to designated people.

The Christ the King Sunday the last Sunday of the church year was well received and celebrated with a wonderful thinking sermon, great music, visuals and liturgy.  After the last postlude note the parishioners came on in droves and proved once again their love of seeing the Christmas story by nativity. It would be well celebrated by all those who observe our collection. It's impossible to remember all of the sets from year to year.  So, it always seems new ones have been added.

The church window ledges were filled even in the balcony. The east hall seems to be over run. The chapel ledges are full as well as areas in the west lobby. A few sets I was looking for must be somewhere stored in the attic.  Tomorrow I will go looking for them. I'm sure we can find a spot for them somewhere.  Where?  not quite sure right now. But there's a place for them. Somewhere a place for them.  We are blessed with so many reminders of the Bethlehem story.

We hung some banners.  More to do tomorrow.  Talked through some things knowing the detail work will happen in the morning.  It certainly takes a village.  Groups are invited to visit the church during the 3 Thursday's in December.  Some have made reservations already.  I think we'll be busy when more publicity happens.

Doug came back to church around 2 since I stayed to work after church.  Then it was lunch time with the Colts and KCity.  Yikes.  I hope they pull this off.  By half time it looked pretty good.  Colts lost in overtime.  Bummer.

Then there was knitting of course with more ripping.  I gained a stitch somewhere and it took a while to find it.  I ripped more then half away before I started to gain some length again..

Then my little camping friend from Novi Mi. faced timed me and did a clairnet solo for me.  She's in seventh grade.  So cute.  We taught her how to ride her bike one summer while camping.  Those were the days.

I shopped for Thanksgiving dinner getting a cheap turkey and some expensive ham, corn and potatoes.  I need to make a pie buy c.relish and a jar of olives, maybe pickles this year..  I think that's it for Turkey day.  Then we'll just nibble here and there like mice! That's a bad picture.  There will be rolls, cookies, pizza and sloppy joes with chips and more for the rest of the week.  I don't think we'll go hungry.

It's a football evening.  So far I see another tie coming with Dallas and Philly.  It 's been a good day with a whole lot of things to be thankful for.  Just a whole lot of things.  Today I would say for one thing...supportive church friends.
