Monday
Awake early and trying to decide what day it was. Tuesday came to mind first. Seems I was confused and then remembered I had another doctor's appointment to attend to, so it was Monday. It was up and ready for the day. I wondered what the temperature was and then remembered...iPhone. Seems I needed to find it. I did some looking around, calling it and that told me it wasn't in the house or car. Oh, yes. Church. After all the first of the morning stuff was completed, I was on my way to church after calling the secretary who reported no phone had been turned in. I was going to LOOK! So, after a bit of pew checking, it was discovered that there had been a phone turned in and for sure it was mine! Mission accomplished.
A rehearsal before the second service. Dads with their children and grandchildren. One of the dads was one of my Sunday School kids years ago now singing with his own son. The next two from the end are the Oehler brothers singing with their dad Eric and Eric's grandson standing in front of him. The next adult was my buddy Logan's dad. Logan was still in Sunday school. His sister is standing in front of her dad. A few more children joined the group after S S. It was such sweet memories knowing all of them for years. The two black haired girls have joined the children's choir in more recent years.
Back home and time to finish another scarf. Then off to see Dr. Baker, the one who knows all about diabetic numbers. She is the sweetest doctor I know. That's why she is a diabetic doc. Uck, Uck. She was pregnant 10 years ago when I first met her and a whole lot of baby bibs went her way. Today, she gained a scarf guaranteed to keep her neck warm. We talked about numbers and there probably will be a change in treatment soon.
There are deer track EVERYWHERE. Over the river and through the woods.Back home again and Doug was on his way to the drugstore and phone store for his flip friend. I was happy to stay home. Being out on the road for a few hours was plenty of moving around for me. I pulled out all the stuff needed once again for soup. Woo. The kettle was full to the top and thick with a whole lot of things. It's really stew with turkey once again in mind.
There were naps during the afternoon and a new scarf on the needles. Why not. I'm down to white yarn but I'd like to change that soon. The cold continues to hang around but by Thursday all the white stuff should be gone. I think we've had more of that already this year than we had all of the winter of 2024.
Football in America tonight. The Colts lost their game yesterday. But they gave the game a yeoman's attempt at winning. The new quarterback that has been assigned is an old friend of the team. I think he is a grandpa 44 years old. It would seem there are many quarterbacks needing replacements on many teams this year because of injuries. The latest one being the Kansas City Chief's quarterback injured yesterday. Football is listed in my book under rough games. With the exception of our last Thursday of nativity open houses, the week looks to be pretty quiet. What a gift if I can keep it that way. Reminds me of the saying it's a democracy if you can keep it that way. We must!
It's all about Monday (even thought it might be Tuesday) with a picture of a rehearsal before the second service. What? Is there a second service on Monday? Or is it really Sunday - which you thought was Tuesday? If this is true then you have entered my world of mixed days!
