Tuesday
Another great start to the day. The first trip out was south to church to pick up a check covering Christmas Visual Arts expenses. We stayed near 250.00 this year for poinsettias and Meridian Street Door roping. What roping we had after many years of door hanging needed to be renewed. The check was written covering the amount spent on my card.
I went on to the bank for a deposit and cash for Christmas giving. Woo. All of our gift giving is now ready for the family celebration.
I moved on farther north to H. L. and Michals for yarn. There were yarn sales at each store and that helped a bunch. More scarf yarn is ready to be knitted for mothers of Goodwill babies in the new year. Then it was back home for lunch. I finished a scarf that I had started but had run out of yarn a few weeks ago. It was finished with one of today's purchases.
I spent some time in the kitchen with the mixer, chocolate chips and all the other things that are needed for chocolate chip cookies. The boys are coming...the boys are coming. Yes. Saturday they will all be here in the afternoon. Boys and cookies go together.
Now the baking process was a unique egg one today. One not to be repeated soon. While the mixer was mixing, I dropped half of a shell into the batter. Woo. Pulling the plug quickly was the savior for the batter. But in the meantime, I dropped the second egg on the floor. Well, not quite...On my no shoed FOOT. Uck for sure. There was a big clean up and I needed the second egg for the batter. Pulling it from the carton left me with only the shell in my hand. The egg stayed in the carton. While cleaning the carton I came very close to losing almost 5 more eggs. It didn't happen. I called this the funniest, in a long time happening with eggs. I don't remember one like this ever. I'm happy to say of the 5 eggs, 4 have intact shells. The fifth I think was cracked at the store. The next time I'll be checking eggs before buying. On the other hand I might drop some at the store. The cookies are yummy according to Doug. They sure have an interesting beginning. I've spilled plenty of blue berries at Aldi's. They really roll everywhere. Some have fallen off the checkout counter and some elsewhere. The cashiers look for me.
Supper was beef vegetable soup. I was soooooo good. I'm happy to say there is more in the refrigerator.
The evening entertainment will be a Pacer game along with finishing with a few stitches on another scarf. That seems to be it for the day.
